Thanks again! I think the Reno Vercetti way to defeat Romanians won to election!
End of Galicia-Romania war
After military council accepted new, large front assault strategy towards Bucharest, Galician army was quickly reinforced. Frontline troops got new assault equipment and Braila Bridgeheads was taken from Romania. In late July 30 of 1937 Galician armies started ''the big push'' to conquer Ploesti and Pitesti and open the gates to Bucharest. However, these new battles were much harder for Galicia, than assaults in early war. Huge and long battles had demoralized Galicia, and they had no more superiority in organization. Ploesti battle was win mostly because Galicia had superiority in numbers.
After capturing Ploesti, Galician army turned to west. Their target was blockade Bucharest and push Romanian army to Transylvania, however, Romanians got some 5 divisions more in Pitesti, and started their own counterattack.
However, Battle for Pitesti have caused, that most Romanian forces no more guaranteed their capital. Only two divisions defended Bucharest, when Galician army started their assault to capture Bucharest. Urban warfare was bloody and long, but in early morning of August 30 Galician troops marched in Bucharest. Romania had now lost most of their industry and lost of capital led to mass surrender of Romanian soldiers.
Again more forces were pocketed, this time in Constanta. Galicians started assault against Constanta pocket from two directions, and without supplies Romanians surrendered. Galicia had took even more prisoners, nearly 20 Romanian divisions were completely captured during Galicia-Romania war.
However, Romanians didn't surrender. They STILL had more divisions than Galicia. Galician offensive to Transylvania failed and Romanian counterattack almost pushed Galicians back from Bucharest. It seemed that only total defeat could make Romania surrender. Luckily Galicia had some good new also: treckaddict armoured inc. finished their research of Early tank. But Romanian counterattack was anyway very powerful: Galicians had in area eight divisions, Romanians at least 10. (How they have so much divisions?) Then field commanders suggested new strategy: maybe it was not important to defeat whole Romanian army... How about taking their new capital, Cluj-Napoca.
Two divisions were transferred from south to north. Romanians started new counterattack in south, and because they now had even more superiority in numbers, they also advanced towards Bucharest. But that was unimportant, since provinces they captured were only wasteland without industry. In september 26 Galicians started their own assault in Transylvania: Battle of Cluj-Napoca took only few hours, and in september 28 it was occupied.
Frontline looked now this:
It's again voting time: what to do since we now can annex Romania..
* Annex Romania
* Install puppet government to Romania
** if you vote this, tell also which provinces should be occupied by Galicia. At least Bessarabia must be annexed to Galician territory, but how about for example north Transylvania?
Long Live Socialist Democratic Parliamentary People's Soviet Republic of Galicia!
