Using Soviet volunteers to bleed out Germany

Hey, while playing as USSR, does anyone beat them by bleeding them out pre-Barbarossa by sending volunteers to the various Allied countries? In a recent playthrough I was able to get France to last almost a year and have them take most of northern Italy just sending volunteers to France on a lark. Also was able to send volunteers to Greece and wipe Bulgaria before Axis took Yugoslavia and eventually stalemated them in Greece. When Barbarossa did come, Germany hasn't been able to do much but slowly lose ground to me in Poland. Kinda seemed like if I had also sent to Poland, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands from the start I could have stalled Germany out from taking France at all. Does anyone do this?

Edit to add: so did Bitt3rsteel, who did it so well that Germany capitulated without ever declaring war on the Soviet Union.

I actually enjoy doing that more than playing the SU itself. I send as many divisions as I can to all the allies, and then group them all together on the front line. I had about 20 Soviet divisions in France at the outbreak of war, and over 1000 aircraft. I also sent about 9 divisions to China., and held Japan up (although to be honest China do a good enough job themselves).
