Using lakes?

Why can't I build harbors to lakes? Is this someways possible to change something what makes this impossible?

u wouldn't want to do this because it's pointless.
all lakes, regardless of size, are one province. it would simply be a waste to put ships there.

Is there away to change them so the Great Lakes and the Caspian Sea become useful?

But the max number of sea port is hard coded ? We I have tested, the game block to the initialisation of provinces.

Anyone have succefuly add seaport ? I am interested by the method.

You can put aircraft on air superioriting lakes. The aircraft will travel from lake to lake across the world, altho the countries with land connected to lakes must be at war or allied with you, but it's fun
