User Interface problem

I don't know if I am the only one to get this problem but since I got the game, last year, I have had a history of intermittent problems regarding the interface at random it seems becoming completely unclickable. This is a problem I have witnessed on multiple computers, and it occurs at seeming random times during certain patches and versions. The current patch has this happen quite often. The last patch it didn't occur once.

To detail the problem more, what happens is that I will be just clicking around the interface(any part of it) and it just becomes completely unclickable, if I click on it, it tries to select the land underneath it. If an event pops up it cannot be clicked on or interacted with in anyway. My only choice is to alt+f4 the game because not even the game menu is interactive. Again this is a problem I have had for a very long time, and have searched up and down these forum and google etc. And have not found a solution which has left me dumbfounded.

If you are on Linux, this is a known bug triggered by alt-tabbing out of the game, and will be fixed in the next patch.

If you are on a PC it's almost certainly a video driver problem. Check with your video card vendor (not Steam or Windows Updates) for their latest one.

I am on Windows and there was a driver update for my GPU, I have updated and will let you know if the problem resurfaces. Thanks.

The problem is still occurring, after making sure my video drivers are up to date, I did not tab out before the problem occurred just in case even though I am on windows. Although thinking about this, I should mention that I play in windowed mode as opposed to full screen, do you think that may play a factor?

Not so far as I know, no.

I just noticed you said in the OP that this happened on multiple machines. Does that mean more than two? How different were they? Because that would imply this should be happening to everyone, yet it's not.

Please post a dxdiag.txt (you can delete everything after the "Sound devices" section for brevity) and your Documents/CK2/settings.txt. Zip up your whole Documents/CK2/logs/ directory and attach or link that here too please.
