I started a game on the WW2 scenario the other day and decided to play as Canada, as I wanted to play a game where I could sit back a little and see how the AI handles things out. All went pretty well, and the usual happened, such as France being defeated, USA entering war etc.
But here was my problem, my allies weren't doing anything. In Europe, a German-Soviet Stalemate occurred for 5 years, whilst the USA had 100+ divisions stacked in Washington, and Britain having 20+ division stacks throughout the country. Whilst Japan took over Asia, and Germany left France undefended to deal with the Soviets, I was amazed at how little my fellow allies were using their armies. In the end, the Soviets started to push the Germans so fast I decided to attack France with my small army, and I managed to take nearly half without any sign of German troops.
So I am asking you, was I just unlucky? Does the Allies AI usually do well? Or perhaps I was expecting too much?
