I've just stumbled upon something rather interesting...

While Portugal was having its usual problems with rebels and defections in the early 1500s I decided to try to help them (I had MA with them) and landed some troops to their rebel-controlled capital... And what do you know, once I've taken it from rebels and control was returned to Portugal I received Portugal's maps

Anyone else tried that?

Heh. Never done that myself. Taking over an enemy capital will always give you their maps, but I never thought to take advantage of a friend's rebel situation in that way, though.

Could be a pretty easy exploit, if you're one to look for that kind of stuff. Spain and Portugal usually end up having issues with rebels. Just persuade them into MA, and watch their capitals...

That's exactly what I did. I intervened just to stop Spain from getting too many provinces from Portugal, but this was a welcome bonus

Sometimes I like to activate richelieu and control rebel troops to suit my needs.
