These would be useful options for the player when deciding what sort of random new world they get will be. Players who want to do a colonization heavy game will prefer a large amount of provinces and continents, but probably don't want to have to look at what the new world to know if they should re-roll it. Others might prefer a more random experience and see how things turn out afterwards. The best system I can think of for most of these is letting the player decided upper and lower boundaries for the various aspects of their random new world. If you don't want them, then you have the option to choose no boundary.
- Continent count (min/max settings): How many continent tiles must the new world contain?
- Fantasy scenarios (min/max settings): How many fantasy scenarios can/must spawn?
- Strange landmass ratio (min/max percentage): How many of the areas in the new world will contain bizarre or unusual landmasses such as the different skeletons and the world bisecting mountain range. Listed as a percentage (eg: 10% to 40% of the landmasses will be strange). Alternatively, the current system for fantasy scenarios could also be used.
- Continent nearby Europe (yes/no): The new world will always contain a continent nearby Europe that can be easily colonized by Western European states if you want to be sure an early exploration idea choice will have possible targets. Raises the minimum continent count by 1.
- Continent nearby Asia (yes/no): Like above, but with Asia instead.
- Island to ocean ratio (min/max percentage): How likely are empty spaces to be filled with islands or just be empty ocean.
- Population density ratio (min/max percentage): How filled up will the landmasses be with pre-existing native nations?
