Hello, as someone with a moderate amount of experience with EU4, I was wondering the difference between accepted cultures vs unaccepted cultures. I also would like to know the purpose of culture converting and the purpose of forcing culture on PUs.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Accepted Cultures are Cultures that your in-game government accepts and tolerates, and perhaps even promotes while unaccepted cultures are the opposite, they are cultures that your in-game government doesn't accept and tolerate. Culture converting can be useful to permenantly pacify an area to prevent furthur seperatist revolts, unify your nation cultural, or to... delete a culture because you can't fit it into your culture slots; or perhaps for roleplaying. The purpose of enforcing culture on PUs is to reduce the cost of eventually intergrating them, being the same gives you a +2 bonus intergration progress, so it can help you save a couple months.

Culture converting is useless.. plain simple. Except for meme one culture runs. it is always better to develop provinces or even to get some innovativeness by taking tech early.

Culture converting is there for when you want to keep your free real estate you get from Burgundian Succession and don't want to deal with the Dutch Revolt

Culture conversion has 4 reasons.

I. Speeding up integration of PUs (Country Culture)
II. Boosting your income. Non accepted culture provinces have a penalty on tax/production/manpower. If you have cheap conversion due to religious or NI or of you habe high income and can afford more diplo points than you need it is WAY more efficient than developing.
III. Roleplay
IV. In MP Culture conversion is ESSENTIAL. Lands of your own culture without foreign cores cant spawn separatists. It is a common strategy in MP do break a country up by letting rebels enforce during war and declaring on the nee country, essentially circumventing the 100% warscore limit and ruining nations in one war. If most of your core lands are your culture and foreign cores timed out you are a much less juicy target since the enemy can usually only take ~50% warscore in MP anyway

V. Changing your primary culture (expensive albeit possibly cheaper than deestating and estating again.

In practical singleplayer game it has no practical purpose except roleplaying like switching Turkish and Greek culture around. There is always something better to use your diplomatic points on.

İt's useful to remove other cores from your provinces (primary culture cores, others just expire), to roleplay like converting entirety of Levant to French after a successful crusade or simply make every single province green on accepted cultures map mode (for the obsessive perfectionists around)

Or maybe the wrong culture land has crap development and you want to power improve it after changing culture to an accepted one to squeeze more tax and manpower out of your investment.

İt's fun to use, as long as you are aware that it's usually a huge waste of DIP power but you want to do it anyway for funsies.

more efficient then developing gold mine provinces to 1/9/10?

anyways, I would advise @Ulmorion72 to never accept any culture within his culture group as accepted. Just blob to empire rank and you get 'm all for free.

When doing deciding on what to accept as culture, then plan ahead. As Great Britain, accept big cultures upstream of your trade node, like Danish, Dutch, Francien and maybe Irish.

As any other nation, plan ahead what you will conquer. If you play France, invade England and accept English and dutch and move trade capital to english channel.. Then Invade denmark and norway and anything upstream and accept anything big you can't make trade company out of, that is NOT in your major nation you cannot make TC out of.
