OK, now I've only played the UK, Prussia and the US in Viki. Prussia starts making money right away, UK requires some breakin time but they start making up for it within a decade, and have the finacinial wherewithall to hold out that long.

Then there's the US. No money like Prussia, no income like the UK, even if I raise the taxes and tarrifs to maximum advised levels (49% tax, 25% tarrif). What's a fellow to do?

0% naval spending, 0% defense spending (I even gut education spending for a year or two) till you can promote some capitalists.

Yeah, you got the mexican american war soon but you can win that with the starting army and a mob pool of 4, and maybe 1 military tech. If you want to start churning up serious cash early on and fight the arstock war....well I can't help you and I am not sure its doable. Just sit tight for a decade or two and build up.

The way for a stable American economy, I know this will sound odd, but if you want to get a good economy going, you have to invade Vietnam, Cambodia, Luang Prabang, Sian, Johore, and Burma in that order. Other targets you can hit once you have built up an economy and army (lots of manpower in Asia), you can hit Japan, Korea, and start pulling apart China. Watch your badboy and your borders however, It is difficult to avoid Britain, but keep relations high with them and they are unlikely to invade. However, you have to avoid a border with France at all costs, because they are the most likely to declare war, which is why I suggest getting Vietnam first. Once you have Southeast Asia, your economy will be booming, but for the first 150-20 years of controlling it you'll have massive revolt problems.

The main way to make money as the USA is to focus on improving your great RGOs. Just go for Clean Coal (real money maker) then mechanical production and use the MPs to promote a few capitalists.

Does he have Revolutions? Capitalists really aren't worth promoting in the vanilla untill the great quest for highest industrial score begins.

RGO expansion could work, except you can't split POPs manualy in vanilla...
