Hey guys,

I guess I'd call this a bug.

Im playing as Fascist Argentina. I was called into Japan's war over in Asia as a member of the Axis.
When I start my own war with Paraguay (and then Uruguay and then Chile) the war is immediately merged into the Japanese war.
The US then tells me to stop my little war and I agree, and then a little later it says the "American's weight is felt" or something to that effect.
Thing is, that has no effect whatsoever because my war was merged with the Asian war and I am free to conquer South America as I see fit.

This doesn't seem to be the way the game mechanic is supposed to work.

Just putting it out there.

Unlike HOI3, in HOI4 the US doesn't guarantee the countries in the Americas, unless they are attacked from a country outside the continents. You are free to conquer without an auto-war with USA. That's not to say they won't eventually get angry enough to do more than send you polite messages ;)

Hmm, that doesn't seem to be what they are implying with their message. I'll have to start another war when I get a chance and find the exact wording, but the jist of it was "cancel your war with Paraguay or we will attack you." I agree to cancel it but then because it's now part of a larger war, my agreeing to cancel it only serves to placate the us and I'm still free to do what I want.
Like I said, I'll have to double check the wording, but the cause and effect is murky in this situation at best.
