Playing as Italy in late 42. I hold the former Spanish colonies in Africa and I'm waiting for the 'US to negotiate with Darlan' event. It happens and I move forces into Casablanca, Agadir and eventually Mogadir to cut off the US ability to reinforce these provices by sea. To my surprise a French force takes Algiers, even though I hold Suez and Gibralter meaning no French forces can enter the Med. I mop up the French, retake Algiers and am using my forces to reoccupy the US provinces taken by event when I see 2 divisions including armor in Oudja. A week later there are 4 divisions driving to the coast.

How the hell do these divisions get there? Oudja is completely surrounded. There should be no way to get any force there.

Telekenisis or teleportation? My ESP terms are rusty.

I had much the same problem. Don't know where the French came from, but I think this event gives cores to the US and it can simply deploy brand spanking new divisions right there. They lost alot of divisions with this little cheat against me, but it's still kind of maddening that divisions magically appear faster than you can move your own forces in.

Perhaps the french strategic redeployed so even though you cut them off they are still redeploying and deployed in their territory. Thats about the only way the AI could get troops there since they can't telliport around the place.

Cores or no cores, the US shouldn't be allowed to deploy troops on land that isn't conncted to their capital by land.

this french reappearance in algeria must be an event because i've seen it a number of times (but always in 43')

if you hold morrocco, though, pushing the french forces back is easy. Use TACs to prevent a breakout as they typically have less than 6 divisions and no supplies, if the MED is sealed.

Watch out for the fleet though. Usually, the whole french fleet winds up in algiers so keep an eye on any axis transports -- blockade the port with carriers or a super-stacked SAG. If they get in supply, expect movement toward tunisia or worse sardinia. port strikes into algiers will even worsen their supply situation.

The good news is that you have more time than you think. By the time the french (always one armored division too) reach kasserine, they will be low org and will crumble easily. But keep a tight lid on morocco and be on alert for US landings there or even Iberia or southwestern france's atlantic coast.

If you do lose morocco, try landing in the allied rear there as they advance toward tunisia and libya and eventually sicily. This will become your only hope, if U.S, forces and free french forces link up.

did you control casablanca(a port that doesn't require entrance to the med..) did the invasion happen on the western coast of africa(also doesn't require access to the med)

Yeah i took Casablance and all the oceanside territories ASAP when the event hit. I knew it was coming and was waiting with mecs to make sure I could take them out before the US could move any transports in and drop any divisions. What really pisses me off is that these divisions appeared after I took all the Atlantic coast provinces and redeployed my fast units back to the Caucuses. Now I have only my coastal defense foces and some militia to counter what appears to be an unlimited US force.

Number 2, to gallo, is your username english or spanish?:confused: because if it is spanish, then I believe that it may be a coincidence that I have heard of a certain spanish drink which has a special looking chicken on it marketed in the U.S. as famosa, but in Guatemala as Gallo.:eek:

1) The divisions are French, why are you complaining about the Americans?
2) The divisions are added by the event. There used to be a delay between when the divisions were added and when the Italians took over in Algiers so the divisions would SR to the French Capital. Now, there isn't so the French grab those provinces (which they can't supply).

Telekenisis = Remote Movement
Teleportation = Remote Transportation
