All,

During my latest game, my Guam (39) and Panama garrison forces (36) were dissolved in a Disaster Event saying they ran out of supply. The auto convoy function was enabled, so they should have been getting ample supply. Is this a bug?

Thanks!

You'd have to check an old savegame to see what the supply situation is but with low infra provinces unless you have reinforcement above zero, divisions will die due to attrition.

Make sure they're supply convoys and not resource convoys. I had the same thing happen to me in the beginning of my US game.

Even with auto convoy enabled you still sometimes have to assign transports manually.

And also remember to every now and then check the amount of convoys you have. I'm playing a game as USA and in January 1941 I suddenly lost almost 800 convoys. I saved the game and reloaded and the amount was back to normal again.
I don't know the reason for this behaviour, but it might have been the "Major worker strike" event. That was the only event that fired when this happened.

EDIT: It happened again when the year changed. So it's not the strike event. Has anybody else noticed a change in the amount of convoys after new year?

They might just be out making a supply run. Your total number of convoys with fluctuate depending on where they need to go.

I'm talking about the total amount of convoys owned and that shouldn't change. Only the amount how many are running should change AFAIK. In this instance the total number goes down from about 1000 to about 150 and that is not enough to feed all my troops and keep trades running, because normally there is around 300-600 convoys running (it's still peace time).

convoys

hey guys,

what I think happens is the output of supplies effect convoys you can't ship out convoys if your factories can't keep up with supply & demand one can establish trade routes but can't crank out enough supplies for it you'll notice it when a supply route stops and infrastructure plays a part as well you have to look at the big picture.

How can you send out a 1000 ship convoy and only make supplies for 500?

this starts dissention in your country & can also lead to you losing a war

I love playing the USA because it's more challenging you have a 2 ocean war so you have to crank out supplies on a massive scale & also send supplies to your allies so you have to decide to build your economy 1st or your army but,
remember an army travels on it's stomach.

"When the mulberry harbors were lost during that hurricane the US with it's enginuity landed supplies right on the beach"
