US boxed copy distribution

Hi,

I am very are sorry to inform our US customers that our US distributor today confirmed a delay in the distribution of boxed copies. Our current information is that they hope to have it on shelf within 3 weeks. It has also not been confirmed which retail stores will carry it as of yet.

For those of you who cannot/don't want to wait for your copy, there are a few other options available to you both via digital download or boxed imported copy via our own webshop. You can find all the links in the "Where to buy the game" thread.

If we receive any updated news and/or confirmations I will post it here.

factoring shipping time, waiting for a store or ordering, both require 2-4 weeks ... So both options suck ugh

I don't even know why you guys bother with retail distributors anymore, especially with this kind of crap. Seems like a waste of money to me... do you even turn a profit on physical retail sales, when you factor in production costs and payments to distributor?

Market share for retail store PC games is somewhere around 25% in the US these days, if that. If you guys were making games for the 360 or Wii, I could understand a retail presence. :rofl:

BTW I prefer the physical copies to the virtual ones. In these times there are ever decreasing number of goods available in their physical extent.

More people buy retail than digitally. Just sayin'..

Also, in the United States, if Wal-Mart won't carry the game can be a big choice in developing it.

No thanks, I'll take the wait. I prefer seeing my boxed copies sitting nicely on their shelf, EU3 Collectors, EU3, EU3 Complete, HoI 3, and now Vicky 2.

I like my maps on the wall as well.
