US BB build time

Hi- I'm an old HOI player, but new to DH. Playing the hard scenario, US , 3/'36. I just began to build a North Carolina BB. The finish date is mid-'41-5 1/2 years !! As stated, I'm new to this game. So, how do I reduce the build time?

I don't remember the details but:

• research the appropriate techs
• move the appropriate sliders (or choose the appropriate option in events that move sliders)
• appoint the appropriate ministers
• take the appropriate decisions
• wait for war and take the appropriate decisions and events

You can either go to your Darkest Hour folder, go to "mod", then select the mod you're playing with, then go to "db" then units and then to divisions , there you can modifiy all the construction costs of each unit, hope this helps . Btw 1,5 years building time for an Battleship is realistic.

Start building your navy earlier and focus on naval techs. Once you hit ww2 era ships focus on getting the gear bonus up. You get it by having non-interfered production.

The US has an insane amount of IC so you should be fine. If you're going historical you can build up a decently sized army with a tank army or two, elite infantry like paratroopers and marines and the greatest navy in the world quite easily.
