I was about to buy the 2600x but some one said 1700 is the better and they both are at the same price and now im a bit confused right again ( building new rig )

Cities skylines is my top priority game hence asking here. ( occasional cod types also )What ive understood for posts is that skylines is more cpu intensive so going for the ryzen 2600x and spending last on gpu.

My plan is to get the 1060 for then later after 6months+ when 11 series is easily available will upgrade further. Also i got question, will 1050 ti be enough for heavily modded cities skylines 150k+ people?

Ram LPX 3000Mz enough or shall i get 3200mz?
Also power supply matters? getting 650w for now.

thanks in advance.

The 2600x is only 6-core/12-threads. The 1700 is 8c/16t. Either is overkill for most any game.

That will be more than enough.

The 1050 Ti will be adequate for this game. However I would recommend 1060 6gb as minimum, especially for other games.

Ram LPX 3000Mz enough or shall i get 3200mz?

2933 ram is recommended by AMD. But 3200 should have a little boost to performance.

Also power supply matters? getting 650w for now.

That is way more than enough. My i7-8700k, Vega 64, and 32GB has a 650 watt gold PSU and it doesn't break a sweat.

Well, 1700 has more cores, so it should be better in the long run. But no games really take full advantage of 8-core/16-threads yet. When they do, you'll likely need an upgrade for new tech anyway to take advantage of in games.

For right now, either setup will do. If you want a ton of workshop, you'll need 32GB or more of ram. You can get a lot of workshop into 16GB though. Then add more later if needed. Just only subscribe what you need at the time you need it, and not preload stuff you think you might want to use down the road, otherwise, you'll need more than 32gb if you choose this preload route.

thanks Markjohnson, i got the 1700, Literally flipped a coin at the store :)

Game is giving 25 fps wtf :mad: :(:( ~ i dont see find any difference with my 960m on laptop ( my 960m died last year ) this is first deksotp ive built. )

please could u help. Most known mods installed + maybe 500 to 1000 assets ( props, vehicles, buildings etc, about 5gb of mods and assets total )

i thought with these specs my pc would butter this game. My rig:

ryzen 1700
asus strix b350
zotac amp 1060 6 gb
vegnence lpx 3000mz
Tx 650 power supply
H500 case
Monitor is a 48 inch samsung 1080p tv, - 60 hz

temperatures show 34degrees while game is on, only graphic shows 54 degrees celcuis

if i need to get a better card, im ready to spend a little more and get the 1070

Yes, FPS is always low. I get 35FPS zoomed in a busy intersection on my GTX 1080. So, with workshop, your 25FPS is very normal.

Your performance increase will come in the form of simulation. You should get about 3 seconds per day on x3 speed. And you can sustain your speeds much better and preventing lag early on. It should also allow more workshop without slowing down your game as much

But this game doesn't focus on FPS as it takes too much CPU time to process data and takes away from the simulation. i.e. 3 seconds per day on x3 speed would drop dramatically, and take much longer. Plus simulating up to 80,000 other cims on the streets would lag the game more as well.

Your FPS should hold steady as your city grows though and shouldn't get any worse.
