I'm not well versed in Battletech lore, so I have to ask... is there an assault mech (in 3025) that can wield four AC/5s?

I don't think so.

I think the earliest would be 3038 when the Daboku is released (early version of what would eventually become the Mauler). In lore it was a rather flawed mech with a LOT of problems. It did however have 4 obvious ballistic slots (It came stock with 4 A/C2s). I think this might be the earliest that such an Assault Mech would have existed...As best I know.

My battletech knowledge is far from encyclopedic, but I can only think of a 3-4 Assault mechs that carried 4+ ballistic weapons through the entire timeline... Early on AC/2s and AC/5s were kinda depicted as AA type guns, and most assault mechs carried a much heavier caliber weapon; Later on they had Ultra and Rotary ACs, which were better but had a larger footprint.

I can only think of 1 other Assault mech that 'existed' during this time that carried that many ballistics: the Rifleman III. Even though it existed during the end of the SLDF it's a design that was forgotten and won't be rediscovered for another 100 years (ie - Massive retcon)

LOL. I remember playing MW3 or 4 with my older son. He decided to take a Shadow Cat against my Dire Wolf. I had 2x Gauss and 2x Light Gauss on it, he came over a hill straight at me..... Should have seen his face...

Yeah but only with Wolf's Dragoons as far as I'm aware.

Wolf's Dragoons before entering the Inner Sphere...
"I hope we aren't too under equipped. We have to make sure we take these old mechs with us that have clearly been eclipsed by the Inner Sphere powers by now. Hopefully we won't draw any attention."

The Annihilator carries 4 ballistics, and the ANH-1A variant is around in 3025.
For some reason my brain associated the Annihilator with the Clan invasion era, or later. So many 'Lost' designs were brought back by the clans I forgot it came earlier, with the dragoons. It's like it's that forgettable... but then again it doesn't stick out in my mind as well as some of the crazy pants 'Lets only put X weapon on it' designs that the clans brought with them. Yeah but only with Wolf's Dragoons as far as I'm aware.
Salvage culture being what it is, there's no truly faction-exclusive mech unless it was just invented.

Besides, there are other mechs just as faction restricted already in the game (like the COM-1B on the other side of the Inner Sphere), so I don't see Dragoon mechs any differently.

Well, let me tell you a story about Quads... Spoiler: It doesn't end well for the annoying ones ;)

well, maybe no Assault-class 'Mech sporting 4 Gauss Rifles yet, however the King Crab KGC-0000, Atlas II AS7-D-HT, Atlas AS7-D, and Highlander HGN-732B can all sport dual-wielding Gauss Rifles though, but you will have to make provision for their 33-tons loadout weight and 13-slots space allowances needed - ammo included. :D

In this game, a dual gauss wielding king crab in the hands of an experienced pilot is borderline OP... with a mech doing recon you can pretty much core everything in the in one go with those tasty 75 dmg. I do love the listed highlander and my objective atm is to farm one of them.
