Good catch. I missed that variant.

Even ignoring Mitch's stance on quads, I think we'd have to rely on the modding community to bring those into the game. The movement is so different even between quads (Scorpion and Goliath move differently) that the animation and move mechanics would almost have to be unique and the reusability would be so limited that I don't it would be a worthwhile time investment to do that. :(
Yep. Totally different movement mechanics.

Even more so than hovers which already have a differing motive mechanic.

Wolfhound would be nice though it's a bit limited in hardpoints and doesn't come into production until 3028 (Fourth Succession War timeframe). It might be close enough to the game's timeframe to be included since Career Mode stops scoring in 3028.

I think like most people I want to see the remaining unseens added to the game eventually, but in addition to them the mechs I most want to see are some really iconic light mechs like the Wolfhound, Javelin and Raven. However, what I really want is to see some of the thinner mech weight classes filled out. Right now we only have one mech for the 20, 25, and 40, ton ranges, and with only two mechs in the 30, 60, 70, 75, 85, and 90 ton ranges. Personally I'd like to see more lighter mechs and smaller mediums added to the game just to fill their numbers out.

For the heck of it... Given these criteria...

20 Ton: Flea
25 Ton: ...Underrepresented weight class, but I'll say... Super Wasp
40 Ton: Assassin

30 Ton: Javelin
60 Ton: Champion
70 Ton: Archer
75 Ton: Marauder
85 Ton: Longbow
90 Ton: Nightstar...Difficult to loadout in this timeline though

I tried to pick ones already designed by PGI. I like these choices overall. Nightstar is a little OP, and the Champion would be a controversial choice, however overall I am liking these picks :). I am sure I forgot one I would like better somewhere...Isn't that how it always goes.

And the resultant hellspawn: the 11-8 bridge.
There already are some of those super low bridges in the game. Except nothing, even vees, fit under them.
Keep your eyes peeled they're on certain maps.

Another thing: if we get new mechanics - how about swivel/turret mounted weapons? I'Ve come across several Sarna articles now that mentioned Mechs with weapons that were turretmounted, allowing them to shoot behind them. Seems pretty useful for urban combat.

For example Summoner could shoot back turning his hands 180 degrees ;).

Even though it sounds stupid turrets on mechs don't show up till much later in the timeline.

We got the Hatchetman, now give us the Axman!

For sure! How else am I supposed to take back my galaxy.

With the Hatchetman being in this game, I think the Axman would be very doable when/if a future Expansion/Sequel might advance the timeline to a point it would fit in.

I think you should start with "MY HOME PLANET"

That is true...and I almost did say that...but spoiler alert...
He did it with an Awesome. He should have kept the Axman IMO, however the cartoon had to sell toys, so new mechs had to be a thing. I don't have anything against the Awesome, but the Axman was cooler. It had a cooler paint scheme and...well...dat axe!

BTW...I hate that this cartoon ended on a terrible (and I mean terrible) cliffhanger. Kind of made taking back one's home planet rather meaningless and hollow. It should be show writing 101... Don't end a season with a cliffhanger unless there is a 100% guarantee that it will be picked up for a second season. Heck, just don't do it period.

P.P.S. Is it weird I hid details of a cartoon from the mid 90s in a spoiler tag? :D

The ad for the toy Axeman was how I got in to the universe, as I had to get the toy. I still got it on my shelf.

So if the game we have now is the basic BattleTech 2nd edition box, let's see what CityTech brought as far as rules go:
  • Buildings - more detailed destruction rules, basements, entering and leaving buildings, weapons fire to and from buildings.
  • Pavement - skidding (and if we get that, we might hold out hope for pushing, charging, and proper DFA animations as well. And hovercraft!)
  • Infantry - this is possibly the big one; if they can figure out how to add infantry to the game, hoo boy. That'll be one fantastic upgrade.
  • Fires - they have previously discussed/tested having flamers set things like forests on fire, perhaps they could dust those design documents off again.
  • Vehicles - moar vehicles.
As for new 'Mechs, I'd be happy with whatever they managed to pull off.

Edit: Also, if my BattleTech (base game) -> CityTech (Urban Warfare) analogy is true, the unnamed third expansion would be... *drumroll* AeroTech :)

If flamers can start fires and it can spread, I'm reminded of two things. One, my toaster is gonna cry tears of blue smoke. Second is. . . this.

I'd want the Mackie. It's where things started, it's often mentioned in the game, it's cool in how dopey it looks and you could have a cool mission where somebody got their hands on a lance of Mackies somehow.
