I'd love to see the Chameleon make a return. It hasn't been in a PC game since Crescent Hawk's Inception.

I have a feeling though that we are more likely to see quads make an appearance before that mech though :(
Which is a shame, because it's a really solid mech, as long as you're willing to mount machine guns and their attendant 'most-highly-explosive-thing-in-the-entire-Inner-Sphere' ammo. And since the only other option for anti-infantry at a 3025-level tech base is flamers, I can see why machine guns were chosen for a training mech. But with HBS!Battletech's both utter lack of infantry thus far and built-in CASE on all designs, it'd be even more solid here, as well as a nice nod back to the very first official Battletech game.

I could actually see the Chameleon being a Medium Mech version of a Firestarter :). Not sure if that is ultimately a good thing or a bad thing (balance wise), but it would be amazing! :D

I mean we already have the Grasshopper and Banshee, it would only be fair if mediums too got their support specialist.

More Mechs to collect is always fun. Very interested in the mechanics aspect.

I'm not too familiar with the details of BattleTech TT but maybe a mechanic where Mech weight is taken into consideration when landing on structures? So something like a Locust could jump jet from roof to roof giving lighter Mechs another traversal option and high ground. If a 30+ ton lands on a building, it just crushes it? And the building could be attacked and collapse, causing knockdown and damaging on the Mech that stands on it.

Player deployed vehicles would be nice.
Bridges with weight limits too, it would change the game...

Yeah I mean, what's it got standard, two MGs and either three or four, depending, SLs? That's either five or six Support hardpoints, ready for whatever your heart desires. It's got Phoenix Hawk-grade speed, for all that it's five tons heavier (a little overweight for its speed tbh, but meh), mounts JJs standard, and if you yanked that Large Laser in favour of another Medium, that'd be four tons you could use to beef up its armour, with it still having a nasty bite to it with three MLs and six of whatever you shoved in those Support hardpoints.

I disagree with your last statement. The Chameleon is far more likely to make it into the game than quads or LAMs.

As for other mechs, I'm not going to hold my breath for anything that is built around LosTech/NewTech stuff, so I don't think folks should hold their breath for the Wyvern. Any/all of the rest though? Yes please :)

Yeah, I was overexaggerating a bit for effect. I should have put an lol or something on the end to emphasize that. We all know how Mitch feels about quads :).

Still, I am guessing that since PGI hasn't made a model, it is very unlikely to make it in game. HBS could make one from scratch, however I have a feeling that it isn't quite influential enough of a mech to get that level of priority.

Still, I hope that one day it could become playable in a BattleTech game whether it is this series of games or the MechWarrior series.

Isnt the WVE-6N the downgraded 3025 tech version in TRO 3029?

I'm not at arms reach of my books.
All the mechs I listed have a variant that's era appropriate iirc

I'd like to see the Scorpion quad too, that's a slightly bigger ask than any other though.

I would love to see bigger maps first and foremost more use of terrain features (like mountains blocking sensor LOS and stuff like that) and a bigger focus on mobility would be on top of my tactical considerations. But really, having a dynamic strategic map where your actions could influence plaetary traits would be the best mechanic they could implenent for longevity sake. The ability to be hunted by other merc companies and houses would be nice too. Some kind of nemesys system where new merc companies appear and disappear in a faction loyalty like menu. That would be a cool longevety enhancing mechanic too. It would make the trategic map more importabt and lead to situations where a routine mission could turn sour due to a merc lance dropping on you in the middle of it... so many things on the strategic map I would like to see so ot actully meabs something rather than "go here, now I go there... now I am going yet over there!" And all remaining the same.

Good catch. I missed that variant.

Even ignoring Mitch's stance on quads, I think we'd have to rely on the modding community to bring those into the game. The movement is so different even between quads (Scorpion and Goliath move differently) that the animation and move mechanics would almost have to be unique and the reusability would be so limited that I don't it would be a worthwhile time investment to do that. :(

The nice thing is that the content added in Flashpoint seems to indicate we're headed towards this with named Merc companies and Mechwarriors as employers as well as targets.

Now imagine being able to upload other player's Merc companies to your game via a string or something... or even having the game doing it for you! Why bother creating name bases when you have literally thousands of people who can do it for you.

Now imagine being able to upload other player's Merc companies to your game via a string or something... or even having the game doing it for you! Why bother creating name bases when you have literally thousands of people who can do it for you.
Yep. Early on there was a suggestion that all the mechwarriors we create for our campaigns (i.e. the player's character) should be added as hire-able pilots in the other campaigns as well. That would be epic if the player company (with it's reputation) were accessible so if you were friendly with Davion in one campaign and Liao in another, you could get missions to deal with 'yourself' ;)

I think like most people I want to see the remaining unseens added to the game eventually, but in addition to them the mechs I most want to see are some really iconic light mechs like the Wolfhound, Javelin and Raven. However, what I really want is to see some of the thinner mech weight classes filled out. Right now we only have one mech for the 20, 25, and 40, ton ranges, and with only two mechs in the 30, 60, 70, 75, 85, and 90 ton ranges. Personally I'd like to see more lighter mechs and smaller mediums added to the game just to fill their numbers out.
