Not sure what else we need, really. The URBANmech is already in the game...do we need more? :D

Maybe Archer, Phoenix Hawk, Wasp, and Stinger? as a prelude to the Warhammer and Marauder coming later?
Or maybe the Raven w/ ECM :)

For mechanics (aside from ECM because ECM will always top the list until it's in the game),
  • multi-component buildings that allow you to break down a wall and hide inside
  • fall damage / collapsing buildings
  • off-board artillery that the player can call on
I'd put "pushing" on there, but that's such an ugly thing in terms of balancing properly.

:)

Of this list, Infantry (as fortified positions or units which move and dig in before firing) might be something on the table for this. The 'Mechs, well, when Infantry is in, the Vulcan should be as well. Javelin, Assassin, and Dervish would be some interesting additions, though the Assassin is one of those which would get the reaction again of "Why? That's not really good." similar to the Cicada. I would expect for an Urban style expansion the Mongoose would be a good addition, but that one I think needs to be built in-house like the Hatchetman was. Any time a 'Mech has to be built in-house, it's a major undertaking as opposed to just yanking PGI assets.

But you know what I'd really think would be in Urban Warfare? More vehicles, specifically of the hovercraft kind. Come on, you know how the SRM Carrier makes people crap bricks? Think of what happens the first time a Saladin happens . . .

Pretty sure I remember the line about new mechs and mechanics from when I bought the season pass.

So, yes... it was always there.

As far as the other question... I personally don't care which mechs they add, as long as they keep adding mechs. I'm much more curious about the new mechanics.

Honestly, if the engine and computer controlled opponent can be made to handle actually densely built up maps, I'm not sure what else would be needed. Even if the ruleset remained completly unchanged otherwise, it would result in a drastically different experience.

Now, the effective loadouts would likely shift to favour either maximised up close firepower / melee or massed indirect fire, with an increased emphasis on jumpjets just due to changes in common engagement ranges. And that might result in the rest of the arsenal getting de-emphasised perhaps a bit too much. I look forward to seeing how the dev team will tackle the subject.

Unfortunately Mitch was very specific that we won't get the Marauder or the Warhammer with URBAN WARFARE, or I would have picked those two.

For URBAN WARFARE... all I want is Infantry, though this may be a bridge too far. : (

More Mechs to collect is always fun. Very interested in the mechanics aspect.

I'm not too familiar with the details of BattleTech TT but maybe a mechanic where Mech weight is taken into consideration when landing on structures? So something like a Locust could jump jet from roof to roof giving lighter Mechs another traversal option and high ground. If a 30+ ton lands on a building, it just crushes it? And the building could be attacked and collapse, causing knockdown and damaging on the Mech that stands on it.

Player deployed vehicles would be nice.

I'd love to see the Chameleon make a return. It hasn't been in a PC game since Crescent Hawk's Inception.

I have a feeling though that we are more likely to see quads make an appearance before that mech though :(
