I currently have half the galaxy under my control I can only effectively hold a 200k fleet. But I have the mineral saved to bring the fleet up to a 600k fleet. But I can't do so without my mineral and energy production going into the red. I cant colonize or expand so I'm stuck not sure how to move forward and bring in my income to support a more massive fleet

Aside from the obvious things like the reduction costs in the prosperity tree you can switch a lot of farms over to minerals and energy. Look at production boosts too. Mining drones edict can run all the time. Reducing consumer goods in a large empire has a larger effect. It seems like a big gap though how you have that cap but not resources. Is the other half off the galaxy your vassals? If you’re at your fleet cap or over you may have pushed your limits. I have about half of a medium galaxy and a 250-300k fleet and there’s nothing can touch me. That should be fine for a crisis on console too. Which unfortunately I turned off this game. Depends on your habitable world setting too. I think pc numbers are just higher in general. Fallen empire worlds support 50-150 fleet by themselves.
