Upgrading from 1.3 to 1.3a

I'm currently playing Version 1.3 of HOI 2. Do I use the Hotfix 1.3a or download the entire 1.3a update to get the latest version of the game? I have NOT modified any game files and have installed the game to default location.

I have tried the Hotfix after using a .rar decompresser. I receive an error message which indicates that I'm missing an Excel file.

[Using WinXP with all the latest updates, 750MB of memory, over 5GB of free HD space, Intel 2.2GHZ Pentium 4 cpu]

By hotfix do you mean the 1.3a hot fix?

If you get errors after installing it to a vanilla 1.3 version then you installed it wrong.
If you have mods inatalled then it could be a problem with them.

This is not exactly the nature of this thread, however, it is close. I have installed 1.3a and it seems to have worked seamlessly!! What are the changes made from 1.2 to 1.3 and to a. and b.. By the way, where is b. that I might install it? Would you help please. I am a friend of Paradox and of HOI. I am sure you have these changes compiled somewhere so you would not have to rel-compile them. Please help me. Thanks. Tag

i found 1.3. that was it. 'the latest update' it said. 1.3. not 1.3a . not 1.3b.
1.3. could somebody please post the link to 1.3b?

for 1.3a.
i do not know anything about 1.3b and i'm guessing it does not exist yet [since the thread to 1.3a says, "1.3a IS THE LATEST UPDATE"].

The 1.3B is an update not a patch. You can find it in a sticky thread in the General forum. You need to extract it manually into your HOI2 folder.

The changes can be seen in the sticky thread that says the latest patch is ...
