Was wondering what the plan was as regards keeping an updated set of instructions – with HoI3 I had the problem that the manual that was issued then was outdated as soon as all the patches and DLCs started flowing in. Say I only start playing when the first HoI4 DLC hits the store, then what do I need to read/look at to get a full understanding of how the game works?
Ideally this would be an updated manual, but will there be one? Or just the in-game tutorial?

I've never been a big fan of tutorials, especially ones that are mandatory before being able to get into the action. This is especially true of games that have gone through several iterations, so the gameplay is pretty much established and a tutorial doesn't bring much of anything new.

Although they make them for people that are just getting into the game series for the first time, so I don't see them going away. And also the wikia's usually pop up shortly before release and "most of the time" stay updated, especially with popular games. Plus you have youtube and other things as well.

Ten to fifteen years ago, this wasn't the case. I remember buy the "walkthrough" books and reading through game manuals throughly on the car ride home. As there were no wikia's or youtubes that you could get this extra info from.
