As a heads up, it can sometime take up to an hour for the sync to finish. It isn't instant.

Paradox doesn't wish to put DRMs, and instead support people buying the game.
To keep the discussions and the support and the modding aid for people who actually own and know the game and e.g. to prevent spamming by people who register sockpuppets without any games registered to spam.
So short only? That means that while you wait for the registration to take you could install the game or do something else with your life.
It’s not like before the internet where you had to send a postcard and wait for weeks to get your registration confirmed like for some of my older games from Microprose.
Actually you can view the forum of games even without registering the game. For example I just visited the Stellaris game forum at

and can view and read the forum without problems. Usually only the mod and support subforums of games are reserved for users with registered games.

Look man. i've had victoria 2 for 2 years, but i bought if off amazon, not steam, i'm just now using the forums. how do i get ccess to the victoria 2 mod threads?
It is a while ago that I bought a Paradoxgame on Amazon, but that did use Steam too. In which case simply connect your Steam account with your forum account as in post 1 of this thread. The Vic 2 forum is there:
