I have been TRYING to synchronise my account by following these instructions - but whenever I try to "connect the account" on step 1 I just end up going to a Steam page that wants me to install Steam - even though it IS installed. I just go round in circles. I never have been able to sync up my games properly. Although on Steam I have Hearts of Iron, Hearts of Iron II, Victoria and Victoria II, Cities: Skylines, EU Rome and now Stellaris, none are acknowledged on this website. For reasons I do not understand I have only managed to get Hearts of Iron III recognised here.

I would suggest logging a ticket with paradox support for assitance. Screenshots and URLs would be helpful and they will be able to advise if the issue is from this side, from steam or neither.

Ok, I get it that I can get tech support from support desk, and I can live without reporting bugs, np. but my question is how to get access to Modding and possibly other fora? Or am I screwed?

I have voiced my concerns regarding this linking months ago in this and other thread and was never answered by Pdox staff.
So, is linking mandatory, the only just and correct way? I do not recall such information, although it might have been hidden somewhere in the licence agreement.

Please note: I am not employed or contracted by Paradox or any affiliated companies.

To answer the first questions, yes you will need to link your paradox and steam accounts to gain access to the MP and user mod subforums for stellaris, there is no other way. It is not mandatory to link your accounts, you get all functions of the game without it.

I cannot sync my steam account with my forum account as the account is shared with another person (my brother wouldn't be able to register his games then and vice versa). Is there any kind of workaround so I can register my base games for sub-forum access? Normally that's the only thing I register anyways. Currently I need access to Stellaris forums.

Again, not speaking officially but i dont believe Paradox is under any pressure to facilitate the linking of an account that is in breach of the steam subscriber agreement. Sharing of an account isnt really a needed thing anymore with family mode etc.

You may not reveal, share or otherwise allow others to use your password or Account except as otherwise specifically authorized by Valve.

Syncing and everything worked. Stellaris is showing up in my games but I cannot access the subforums. It keeps telling me to sync my steam accound "again." Just tried it again. Game shows up, but there are no subforums.
Anyone else having this problem?

Can you try logging off and logging back on?

Already tried. Tried again. Did not help. Even resynced the steam account again and logged in and out agian. Still telling me to sync my steam account.

That's strange. I don't see Stellaris in your icons. You are probably going to have to submit a support ticket.

The account was made 9 years ago when me and my brother split the cost for the Orange Box and agreed to a joint account. We've been using it since because we both have extensive long term game profiles tied to that account and there's no way for us to split the 200+ games we now have on there. It's just too much trouble to stop sharing the account at this point.

I'd like to post several bug reports for Stellaris and some suggestions, like I've done extensively with other Paradox games, but I can't access the subforums right now.

Have you attempted to log off and then log back in?

Hi, I have pre ordered Stellaris and I can't find the non-ingame stuff (the artbook, Novel, Wallpaper, etc) (yes, I pre orderd the one including it (look underneath my name and see you self) and when I look stellaris up in my steam library all that stuff is listed in the DLC box). Where can I find those items?

Heyo just for in the future, a stellaris specific question is best off in the stellaris subforum (this question has been asked and answerer many times there)

Copying one of those answers: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stellaris (or the equivalent on your system).

Maybe it was already asked but the first post makes me wonder, if I own non steam games, and I sync will i have to remember enter their activation (for forum acces) code again?
Also why on Earth was someone thinking that this is a good idea? (all this hassle with steam syncing and so on, without CD keys how will we know if steam goes down who has what game?)

I think we'll be ok if steam goes down somehow.

You wont lose non-steam games if you sync. Quite a few of my icons are non steam and I havent lost any

I'm getting stuck on step 2. Where do I find the "owned items"? There's nothing like that in my settings or anyplace else I can get to. I'm assuming it's somewhere on the Paradox site, but I'm baffled. Any clue where I need to look?

I think we'll be ok if steam goes down somehow.

Plus if they go bust you won't be able to play the games anyhow.

What Data?
I like Paradox, but i never trust a company who wants more Data than necessary, and who force me to give them more Information than needed.

The forums no longer display that I own EUIV, which is preventing me from accessing the mod forums (where you will see I have a few posts from when I could access them in the past).

The paradox account displays that I own EUIV, but it isn't on the owned items list and clicking synch doesn't work, even though my steam account is linked.
