In Russia, the Royal Edition pre-order went for about 2000 rubles, which is like 27$
Wow, that's a lot cheaper! Though since the average Russian makes like 10% of what the average American makes I guess it makes sense for the game to be cheaper there.

Is this the day the CK3 team manages to squeeze out the first DD of 2021? A month and a half into the year, and several DDs later than all their other games. Not gonna lie; kind of curious about what they've been working on that has been so important that they haven't been able to write a few paragraphs about their progress yet.

I must be getting old - my subjective appreciation of time is that it is going way too fast. Months fly by.
I remember when summer break seemed to last forever.
5 months already since release? I was sure it was last week. It's such a small slice of my life now.
2 weeks until the next diary? That's so close I won't even have time to blink.

Ah, to be 20 again and whine because a month is too long a wait!
You should be happy time is so slow for you. :)
It will not always be the case.

That subjective appreciation of time seemed to start snowballing for me the moment I didn't have the suffix "-teen" next to my age anymore. And then there's a turbo around the end of the 20's. Mid 30's here and my last birthday still feels like it was yesterday as I'm already half way towards the next.

I think drinking helps. I'll drink like once a week or two and it just feels like that day and the next few days fly by.

And I don't even have kids to eat up most of my time, just work. My buddies who have them say they easily lose track of days and weeks sometimes.

I also think that DLC will be about Vikings, but thats fine cuz Im planning to play England next.
Never played tribal, neither in ck2 or 3. Just don't see me in that playstyle without classic feudal thing from the start.

Not a fan of tribal either, but if you play as that Whiteshirt guy in 867 he's a feudal viking.

I loved this game up until about the 50 hours or so and then i realised how shallow it actually was. It has everything to pull you in, flashy graphics, grand scale map, character customisation, etc. But then it sinks in..what am I doing, really? There is no variety, there is no constant change once you hit a certain point. It's just maintain or conquer. Very little diplomacy, very little choice or impactful decisions outside of war, and it basically turns into a sims style simulator with constant war. Almost gets tedious and lame. They really need more content, more choice, more change. More things to do other than blob. Until they mix up the formula, I'm not ready to come back just yet, and that's tragic. I do believe this will become what I envisioned when I pre-ordered, but who knows when that will be. Perhaps never. I just hope they realise that new continents and new character models will not be enough to keep people interested.

Byzantium being fixed would be the best. That, and I JUST WANT THE BUGGED LEVY NUMBERS PATCHED!
Byzantium fixed should not be DLC, but a simple patch.
I have a blast with a Sicily vs them. On easy tbh, but I was losing and winning vs them, with lot of alliances in the right time, later I became stronger then them.

While I am not so harsh by a significant margin - I do enjoy the game thouroughly and the ever different stories it generates - I agree the game is far too war focused, yes. You need to actively avoid blobbing as the game always tries to push you that way. Also the way CBs are dead easy to get and how the AI mindlessly pursues them, lead to very unplausible results on a grand scale level.

Im really curious what we will get tomorrow. Nicou has said, that when he was shown the flavour pack he thought it was the full 30$ DLC, so i have pretty high hopes.
I think even more important than the flavour pack will be the patch accompanying it. A lot a balancing and changes need to be done, i especially dislike the mariages and alliances, completely breaks immersion when HRE sends their hole army to ireland because some duke married the daughter of the emperor...

Even more interesting will be their release schedule. I expect them to release the flavour pack and the 30$ expansion this year, since the expansion is supposed to be "meatier" there are quite a few dev diarys to have and it will release Q3/Q4.

I actually think we might see the flavor pack before april, maybe even beginning of march, otherwise there isnt enough time for the big DLC.

Well CK2 turned out to be a pretty awesome game with a lot of variety and shockers. I'd say just be patient!

Just wait until you have a kid - if you don’t already.
I had my first baby almost a year ago, and it actually feels like the slowest year of my life. It could be the pandemic parenting life, but it feels like an endless struggle to keep the baby watched and cared for while also staying on top of remote work. The feeling is "we've been doing this with no break for so long, and it's only been a year?" o_O

I don't think it's war focused, if it was - war would be better implemented and tactically deeper, it's just that the war is the only thing you can actually DO.

What I believe the focus was, not only after a 100 hours of gameplay, but also what I suspected prior to release, watching the promo videos of two guys playing and reacting to some events and situations in the game, is that they read humorous and highly rated Steam reviews and built the game around that.

Basically, their priority were the memes.

In CK2 priority were your stories, that generated the memes organically, through player experiences (every playthrough was truly a unique story), in CK3 they went straight for the meme content without the actual meat of the experience.

I feel like it was more like:
"Haha imagine when they create a lineage of genius inbred beautiful strong albino dwarves who rule the world through a dynasty of thousand Muslim Tyrions"
instead of being something like:
"Hey, look at this event storyline I wrote, does it seem fun?"
