I'm about 30 years into my current game. All countries (yes, everyone) except myself has a neutral diplomatic stance, according to the ledger. Diplomatic stances don't seem to be put to much use by the AI. Are you currently reworking the AI behind diplomatic stances and have temporarily put everyone on neutral, or is it a bug or unbalanced?

Did this not happen with the previous version? (1.1?)

It might, however I didn't notice it. Can't find any bug reports of it either, nor any comments. I think it's easier to spot now because of the ledger, where it becomes apparent.

We’ve been told that the AI for cicero wont get any big work done until closer to the live release, as to avoid exessive do-overs while mechanics are still changing a lot.

.. this is all AI stuff, so im not surprised. I suspect Chaingun is on the case now though, to some extent. anyway, i dont think staying on neutral stance is very dehabilitating for the AI right now as compared to some other things, like habitually going 2 over its relationship limitfor some random guarantees.

My feedback based on the one game as Rome for about 200 years. English is not my first language so sorry about misspelings etc.
  • Early game looks much more interesting with the changes. I had to skip first 5-6 tiers of invention as I was lacking money for them. Also had to run harsh taxation to stay in the positive.
  • As there are fewer types of "curencies" to spent you need to pick and prioritize at the start.
  • Still problem with massive snowballing. After you conquer Italia you are basically unstopable.
  • I understand that AI is not adapted to new mechanic, but it looks that it currently prioritizes buildings above military and expansion.
  • Internal politics feels week. Unless you want to RP you can basically ignore it. Power base seems to be move in the right direction but it should be harder to keep you characters loyal in order to have it some impact (I have 1 civil was triggered by event).
  • However, plenty of civil wars in the major powers (Egypt etc.), so maybe I was lucky?
  • Changes to buildings is step in the right direction. I would suggest beter information regarding the benefits (idealy direct conversion to money / MP / research etc. - increased slave productivity is useles information).
  • Macro builder -> add counter of how many buildings of that type are already build.
  • Changes to POP system are great. However, I think migration needs some tweeks - especially slaves. Slaves should not migrate / promote if that would lead to loss of number of produced goods.

Overall impresion is very good and I think the game is moving in the right direction.

Hey devs!
Could you tell us when will the next beta version for cicero be released?

They never would say that :)
I only hope that this game (only around 500 players playing it) is not already dead (like March of the eagles)

I personally think Imperator is a very good game...but it will be (very) hard to make it successful like
HOIV,EUIV,Stellaris...(only 500 players - and i am not so sure they want to invest tons of working hours for maybe nothing)

They've announced a one year plan for improving Imperator: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/the-one-year-plan-for-imperator-rome.1183046/

I doubt they'll stop support before that time frame.

Hello, I have seen a problem in the assimilation: citizens or free men with 0 of assimilation prevent the possibility of other pop that could be assimiliation.

Same problem of assimilation with conversion.

I would also like free claims for Carthage on Sicily, Corsica, Sardinia, Balearic Islands and Hispania to the Iberian River, for more equality with Rome and more flavor.

Another thing that I would like is a system of naval supply lines for trade and military logistics, this would make naval warfare more fun and more important for ports.

I like the work you are doing, thanks.

Edited: changed promotion for assimilation.

I am only one who like pirates? :)
I like them as well.

The pirates are so impossible to deal with I've given up on building any fleet what-so-ever, which liberates a substantial maintenance cost for use on land forces. They also seem fairly adept @ keeping AI navies at bay, as I'm yet to have any significant invasion by sea. And even if I were, I'd just move ground forces to engage them (after some time of course).

I don't know if it is a known bug, but i am currently playing and my Aggresive Expansion keeps getting massive increases, it is ticking down by 0.50 or something but in a couple years when i didn't notice, while doing nothing it just goes up by 40! it keeps going up bij 10 or 20 .

I dont recall this happening before i formed the Hellenic Leauge, but since i did that i just cannot get below 50 and i didnt take any land for over 50 years now....... neither did i make claims or any other action which raises AE.

There are various character and diplomatic actions that can increase AE. Have you been assassinating anyone? That one is a doozy.

Say what? nowhere does it say that assasinating someone gives AE.

But yes i have been imprisoning, trialling and assasinating a lot of people, only in my own nation. and Maxing out Tyranny wasn't that bad, but the AE just not going down is annoying.

yes it does say that.
So if i kill one of my senators, the whole world will think that my entire country is expanding rather aggressively?

Well if thats the case then thats another broken mechanic. I already hate that you cant do anything to foreign generals you captured but this might be worse.

EDIT: Holy crap the tooltip indeed says it, but it gives 18 aggresive expansion damn, i can conquer all of thrace for less AE...
