Welcome to the feedback thread for the 1.2 Cicero Beta!

Read the full patch notes and opt-in instructions in the stick here.

Keep in mind when providing feedback and discussions that this beta is a very, very early look at the work being done so far and will contain only English (no additional localization,) placeholder assets and text, and is intended as an opportunity to take a look at the current work in progress.

Please note that save games from 1.1 Pompey and older versions of the game will not function without issue on 1.2 Cicero.

Thought this was an odd name for a Stellaris patch when i say the forum avatar @badgr
Ah, that's because my friend, the venerable @HottestRod is currently taking some very well-earned vacation and I'm stepping in to assist the Imperator team :)

I like this new PDX policy of release stuff on super beta to get players input and feedback so you have enough time to do changes before release on september, after the failure of the beta testers system.
Glad that it's appreciated. It's also a great way to show what we're working on and showcase the intended direction with some hands-on opportunity for the community.

Do you plan on adding more stuff, or the time left until september is planned for bug fixing and balance? What about dev diaries until september if we already have the patch? ;)
Updates to this beta are likely to trickle in from time to time as they get ready for evaluation and feedback from you guys. There is no set schedule though, and summer will slow the pace a bit.

I personally just wanted you to include basic QoL stuff that was in EU4, like attaching units to docked fleets, and a

that was added in 1.1

I was surprised that pop could migrate to your neighbours and I started investigating adjacent cities until I noticed this

in an earlier version they also migrated to oceans :)

Keep playing. As Macedon my borders extend from Byzantion to Sparta and up to Illyria and my inventions cost ~250 each, which is far more than any building. It scales with your countries income, whereas buildings don't.

Actually.. it scales with your "unmodified" income. ie, before inventions, ideas, policies and laws.

Currently, I am unable to Arrange a Marriage for my Monarch. I click the button, select the spouse from the following list, the window goes away normally, I unpause, nothing happens.

Aye, we're aware of this one - we're looking into a fix. No promises on when that will appear though, I'm afraid.

- FOOD and CONSTRUCTION: I must say that the idea is very beautiful! But currently, you have made the concept impossible. http://prntscr.com/oqaahq How can I destroy existing buildings? I can't... Don't you have anyone to check for updates before they go out? Because here it was enough just a check .... From someone who plays beyond that program!!

I have other suggestions, but I really want you to focus on the serious problems of the game. How is it possible that with all the experience you have, keep making problems come out instead of solutions?

I thank you, from the bottom of my heart and from your great fan. I didn't say anything when I bought the deluxe, well before the game came out and I didn't say anything when I had to buy the audio package because it wasn't included in the deluxe. I didn't say anything when the game came out and looked like an alpha. Everything to support you. Economically. Since I can't do otherwise ... But you are the experts. It is you who create. I'm a big fan of Roman history and thanks for this masterpiece. I know that in 6.12 months it will be perfect (this is my wish). But currently it is far from it ... I have always found the points in favor of this game. But honestly? Start getting nervous ... Told by a guy who spent a lot of money on CKII, EUIV and thousands of hours of play.

Hello there!

I am sorry to hear that you've had issues with the beta. I thought I had removed all pre-scripted buildings in the wrong territory ranks (e.g a city building in a settlement). Was this an issue that popped up in an old save played in the latest beta update? Or was this an issue from start-up?

Could we also have a few territories start out as cities? Rome, Carthage, and a few Alexandrias would come to mind as already large cities at the start of the game.

Many of them do, including all of the ones you mention.
Perhaps you have an edited province_setup file in your documents folder? If you have ever used the in game setup editors then they will save a version of the province_setup file in your documents folder that overrides your game files until it is removed :)

The lack of capitalization on new traits has completely ruined my campaign.

Do you have a mod or anything that could have overwritten the localization for this?
A quick search in our internal database tells me that we should have localization for the Daring trait.

barracks a settlement build???? Really? so why do some of my cities have barracks?

Would this happen to be in an old save?
As we change things slightly from update to update, you can get some weird inconsistencies in old saves. Sadly it is sort of the downside of having an open beta like we are doing now, but I am pretty sure that we have caught and fixed all cases of buildings in incorrect territories in fresh games.
