Welcome to the feedback thread for the 1.2 Cicero Beta!

Read the full patch notes and opt-in instructions in the stick here.

Keep in mind when providing feedback and discussions that this beta is a very, very early look at the work being done so far and will contain only English (no additional localization,) placeholder assets and text, and is intended as an opportunity to take a look at the current work in progress.

Please note that save games from 1.1 Pompey and older versions of the game will not function without issue on 1.2 Cicero.

I like this new PDX policy of release stuff on super beta to get players input and feedback so you have enough time to do changes before release on september, after the failure of the beta testers system.

Ah, that's because my friend, the venerable @HottestRod is currently taking some very well-earned vacation and I'm stepping in to assist the Imperator team :)

I like this new PDX policy of release stuff on super beta to get players input and feedback so you have enough time to do changes before release on september, after the failure of the beta testers system.
Glad that it's appreciated. It's also a great way to show what we're working on and showcase the intended direction with some hands-on opportunity for the community.

Do you plan on adding more stuff, or the time left until september is planned for bug fixing and balance? What about dev diaries until september if we already have the patch? ;)

- Reworked Experience. Unit Experience no longer decays from losses in combat but instead decays over time. All armies now have access to the Drill ability which will increase their cost and loyalty gain chance while allowing them to build up experience.
Instead of always decaying over time, make reinforcements decay it only. This would make more sense. Also would be consistent with veteran cohorts being raised as experienced cohorts as if they immune to decaying over time. @Johan

Updates to this beta are likely to trickle in from time to time as they get ready for evaluation and feedback from you guys. There is no set schedule though, and summer will slow the pace a bit.

This is really interesting, curious how this will play out.

For one, it will be trickier in early game where wars usually take you to deficits and that money saved you from it.

On the other hand in mid late game, you dont really need that much money and just adds to the gold flooding.
