Yeah of course, but I love to be able to roam the map freely and spectate from different countries, see what they build, research, plan etc. Otherwise I could just watch some YouTube videos or so

Currently I can mostly only do that, when playing singleplayer without ironman mode and spectate what the AI is doing, but that's not that interesting as watching real people play to me

And what's to stop you from telling one team what the other team's plans are?

I PU my game from Steam and the checksum is 2885--I won't have a problem unless I try to play with someone else, right?

That and you won't be able to earn achievements, everything else will probably be fine.
