Nothing about bug about monarch temporary sickness for a few months but lowering monarch skills until his death?

And about revolt in Netherlands starting always around 1540, ie 30 years too soon?

I could be wrong here, and I apologize if I am, but wasn't one of the holdups due to making EU work with the gamespy service? I didnt notice anything about that, was that dropped or wont it make it into the patch, or am I thinking of some other game thats waiting on a patch which I wont mention it's name **cough cough* AOSII **cough cough**

About the Assault thing... there's still a rather easy manipulation to take down a fortress that seems quasi historical.

Have a couple of infantry armies in an adjacent province and move another couple into the location to be seiged. Assualt the fortress, lose, pull out 1 army, and move in a fresh one from an adjacent location. Assault again, repeat. Because the new armies greatly improve morale, the fortress will 'give up' as their morale breaks.

Maybe the morale of fortress troops should be greatly increased after repelling an assault?

Looks like this Patch might fix the last of the major bugs.

Cant wait to see how it works in the GC/IGC

Will the IGC I&II be compatiable with 1.08 ??? or is the IGCs incooporated in 1.08 ?

Keep up the fantastic support & good work and one day make us an EU2... Napolic-wars, ancient history... WW2 ?

Not to sound whiny, but I am disappointed about not seeing anything about the ping-ponging units and invulnerable artillery. It's the only thing in the game that drives me nuts, other than the pirates. Is there going to BE a patch 1.09 or is this it until EU2? There... is going to be an EU2, right??? Right??? :)

BTW I've been playing computer games for more years than I care to admit and I must say I'm impressed with Paradox. Keep it up!

Sometimes big fixes are hidden in cryptic readme wording. I'm hopeful that the ping-ponging army and marauding artillery fixes are hidden in there somewhere. If not, though, I'm sure they'll materialize later, given Paradox's excellent track record.

Bankruptcy now worsens inflation instead of improving it... err, has the AI been equipped to deal with this? I have bankruptcy messages turned on and the AI goes bankrupt a *lot*. Would this ruin them?

My concern too... during a typical GC I'll see the papel states go belly up over 5 times... and some of the major powers more than once- oddly though Spain has yet to go Bankrupt more than once and their inflation stays as low as mine even though they have goldmines...

Not really. 1.08 only affects issues that we can fix ourselves. The problem with the copy protection has to be taken care of in another way. I suppose that you have an US CD so I would recomment you to contact Strategy First Technical Support (support@strategyfirst.com). You can put attention 'Mike' in your mail as he is the person who handles this.

Multiplayer

Have there been any fixes for multiplayer? We have been attempting un vain to get a 6 player LAN IGC working but can't get more than a year or two without at least one of the machines crashing. The most common problems, one machine halting on a particular date while everyone proceeds merrily into the future, and the second being the host machine quitting quite cleanly to desktop. We love the game and can't wait for a stable multiplayer campaign.

I have been facing a very different problem - judging by other posts, I'm not the only one.

I'm playing England in the GC using 1.07c. It is 1551. I have had 4 or 5 random explorers. Without exception, they have all died within a month - two at the outside. I haven't been able to explore anywhere. They all die mid-ocean!!

'Exchange discoveries', you'll say - yeh, but this only usually works if you have a high dip rating wih another power AND you know of provinces that they don't - catch 22. England is just not powerful enough yet to launch a major European war to win maps in battle.

I can understand a historic limit on just how much of the world England should know about at this stage, but this must be a bug, right? - otherwise better not to give England random explorers at all at this time.

Will the 1.08 patch fix this? It is SO frustrating and is beginning to ruin my enjoyment of this, otherwise, excellent game.

If you can load the game, you're not having copy protection problems. The copy protection scheme can prevent some systems from recognizing the CD. Usually caused by an incompatibility between the copy protection scheme and the CD drive.

Well I am able to load the game and play. However the amount of time I am able to play varies before the game crashes to the Desktop. Maybe the patch will fix it right up.

Patch fix?

Will the patch fix crashes in the game where you just exit to windows? I've been playing and it's frustrating when you have a good thing going and then it just bombs out. The music still plays in the background, but the game ain't there.

Even in the autosave of every year it crashes. Been getting annoying when I have to save every three months or so.

So, how can you get rid of the excess saved games? Where are they located?

Other than that, great game, though I get waxed more times than I do well.
