I know some people really dislike the "filler" dev diaries, but I liked them and was hoping to see one this week.

Well, they did say that a dev diary would come in August, and today is the last Wednesday in August, i'm slowly losing hope in PDS keeping their word lol.
If there is no diary this week , my life will not end.
RELAX
The difference (I assume since I don't follow either of those games) is that EU IV and Imperator: Rome were both in the middle of a development cycle and already posting Diaries about it before the break started, HOI IV was in between development cycles (just finished LaR+the cosmetic stuff) so they would normally be in a silent cycle anyway (they typically go mostly silent once they start working on a new DLC until they have something substantive to show.)The problem is not this week we do not have a dev but it is that we have spent many months without knowing anything apart from very generic things that were said in that special dev for the anniversary and without any dev, on the other hand, other franchises have been with development diaries for weeks weekly like EU IV or Imperator Rome.
and I do not believe that currently they do not have something minimally advanced to go start dropping concrete things of the following patches or next dlc
OK, so I can just assume you don't consider La Resistance to be a Major expansion (well technically it isn't since HOI doesn't do expansions anymore, just DLC). LaR released just 6 short months ago.God damn, RIP HOI 4. No dev diaries and 18 months since the last major expansion.

That is correct yes.OK, so I can just assume you don't consider La Resistance to be a Major expansion (well technically it isn't since HOI doesn't do expansions anymore, just DLC). LaR released just 6 short months ago.
How? It added 2 new complex systems (spies and resistance/compliance) and added 2 of the most massive focus trees in the game (Spain/France), both major players in the time period. How is it anything BUT a major expansion? That is correct yes.
It is no excuse why today Stellaris has launched a development diary talking saying that the regular devs were returning and I do not think this will remove the expectation and clientele from those who wait for CK III therefore the dev HOI IV eitheraffects sales of CK IIII think DD will start 2 weeks after release of CK2, they want people to buy and play that and not have their mind on the next HOI4 DLC
I always agree to add more things with a historical flavor and I have always demanded that to add more general that type of things because there are still some inexplicable absences such as redoing some parts, some trees, approaches such as the branch of the military land and air of the German tree that is tremendously bland Although they reworked their tree and I do not know why they did not take advantage of that opportunity to better that part of the tree that is still inexplicable considering what they have done in other treesWhat I would love to see is a small DLC (they need to make money after all) adding more generals, maybe 2-3 focus trees (Siam, Belgium, Bulgaria, maybe Ethiopia) and a lot of bug fixes, and making focus tree mechanics general game mechanics (buying equipment and ships), Demilitarize zones, embargoes, threatening war if territories are not ceded, parliament mechanics for all democracies and the spanish civil war preparation phase for all countries that go to civil war.
God damn, RIP HOI 4. No dev diaries and 18 months since the last major expansion.
