It’s possible they’re back and just don’t have anything to share yet - I’m still holding out hope for a small diary tommorrow though

We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
Problem is that Dan Lind told us that they would have stuff to show off for "Collie" after the summer break. Its been one-two weeks since summer break ended, most other titles have started regular DDs again, except HOI4. Either they are fine tuning some stuff (in which, sure I cool with that) or they don't have anything (in which case we were mislead when Collie was announced.

As Dlin369 said, I am still hoping for a small DD tomorrow. Whatever it is, just something to tell us they are working on hoi4.

Hope so. No teaser but they said a post about Collie would be here August so I’d say it’s a 50/50 shot

He said we can look forward to dev diaries some time after summer vacation. He never claimed there would be DDs immediately after summer break, so saying he was misleading us is incorrect.

I think that as of today they should already have something moderately advanced to start teaching things taking into account the time that has passed since the last dev they really taught really important in content as it happens in the EU or imperator Rome

The first one is usually a more generic "hai we're back from summer break" post.

The last DD were in april, thats 5 months away. Iam sure there is something they could tell us.

Pretty sure the last one was in June, to coincide with the intial release and they announced the Speeches and Allied Tank Pack.
You forget how logically these programmer types think. Anything from today until after the heat death of the universe is "after summer break". They've got plenty time.
Come to think of it, they didn't even specify which summer break...

It is true but those dev was something exceptional due to the anniversary of the game simply stated that packages and speaking of very above that it is working two patches simultaneously in a very above way without going into much detail apart from the names that they would have and nothing more therefore that could be considered a dev with little interesting content.

To all the people in this thread justifying the lack of a DD, come on people! The fact we haven’t had a REAL DD in 5 months means they have something really good to show off, or for some reason 5 months isn’t enough time to get anything done, and my fear that we’ll never get more than one update a year containing not much is a reality. Then again, now that they’ve said they’re working on 2 updates at once, we may not get an update until 2021. While this is hyperbole, HoIIV should have more devs, it’s consistently in the top 3 games in terms of active daily users of things published/developed by Paradox. Top 2 of published. The lack of a DD today imo would be inexcusable.

Yeah, well, PDX devs can be a bit weird when it comes to their dev diaries. The Stellaris devs, too, went silent for weeks before giving us a generic "oh btw no more dds over summer" update.
I was expecting a DD today or tomorrow, so I guess we'll get one tomorrow, otherwise it'd be a bit strange. It's not too much work to just write this generic-ish greeting and upload some screenshots and whatnot from testing sessions.

On one hand, it's past the traditional 1500 CET where DDs are usually posted.
On another, HoI4 is the most liberal team with the time they post, I think they posted one on 2000 CET at some point, perhaps even multiple times.
So not all hope is lost I guess?

Well, we might not get a dev diary today, to bad, I was really hoping for one. But there is always tomorrow or next Wednesday.
last time Podcat hyped us about what was coming ("you're going to like it") so I'm pretty sure they could at least show us some bit
