I got my copy of Hearts of Iron Platinum! I had not done anything with CORE before, and right now I am playing a game in CORE as Romania! But that’s not my question.

I uninstalled HoI Vanilla and installed HoI Platinum. I think I may have ‘done something’. When I open either of the games the tool box seems smaller. I think I must have messed with the screen resolution some how. But for the life of me I cannot find any where to adjust screen resolution in the game?

Can anyone help?

Also I know I am playing 1.06c since I installed the Platinum version. But I cannot see all of the number in the upper right hand corner?

Are there any other CORE scenarios I should load. My stony Road account expired from lack of use! Is there a way to tell if and when I will need a current patch?

Once again thank you for your patience with my lack of computer skills!

Keep on gaming
John

The settings program is also normally a shortcut in the Start Menu -> Programs folder created by the installer.

The version of CORE in Platinum is 0.84PE; there are 0.9 (full) and 0.91 (patch) available now. Get them from http://hoi.coremod.org/index2.htm. You may also want to install the fixpack from my sig. Mostly fixes for the vanilla version but some of leader/minister fixes will help CORE as well.

What's the difference between Vanilla and Platinum?
Think about Vanilla as an ice cream without any extras. With Platinum you get the vanilla ice plus lots of extras.
Vanilla HOI was the starting point, HOI Platinum was a new release with the latest (last?) HOI1 release plus one of the more popular mods. I am not sure, but I think the manual is reworked also.

I don't have Platinum, but I have downloaded the patches for HOI plus downloaded CORE and the result is said to be pretty much the same as Platinum.

It is important to remember that a number of mods exist for HOI1 and one better check around if one wants to try different new flavours. I believe it is fair to say that the different mods has different scope and different resources, but as usual, to play it safe you must know yourself, your abilities and your wishes before testing new territories. Mixing to much without proper checking may cause a broken installation.

You will find several links to reviews in the Platinum sticky. If you want details, well, check out CORE to start with.
