Hi. For the first time I got the message regarding my Axis partner Japan "The energy recovers". It is late 1942 and Japan is well positioned in its gains in China - but at peace with them, and has no real fighting role currently regarding the Axis "chase down the Americas to try and catch MJF"

However, I noticed about 1/2 a year ago that Japan suddenly went into a substantial daily negative on energy. It was no problem because they have thousands stockpiled, and neither Japan nor I (as Germany) cared to use convoys or concerted TPs (which are always in short supply it seems) to fix the small inconvenience.

But now that I got the event (and Japan is now +3 energy/day instead of earlier -35) I am just wondering what this is all about. Why did they ever incur low energy in the first place? Is it something to do with their upgrading? If so, does this end of low energy signal some heavy upgrading now finished, or major upgrading just started, or is it possibly the effect regarding laying down new constructions (before retooling ends)?

I don't like to open as them to investigate, and hoping my friends in the Abwehr might help. :D

EDIT: OH MY GOSH, I feel so stupid. I need to get those reading glasses I been meaning to for years!
It's not "The energy recovers" but "The enemy recovers".

Well, I don't know who is the true dummy here - me or AoD. That pop up refers to Pearl Harbor event, its subsequent org reduction on USA units, and now that has ended.

And to AoD I would like to say, "FYI, USA was annexed very long time ago". :p

Should I ask a mod to delete this, or leave it as ignominity of the fact?

Production demands more resources as the gearing increases. So if you move to putting ICs into upgrades/ CG/ supplies rather than production you need less resources to do so. Pang can give a more exact answer I'm sure :)

No org reduction, just higher chances for Japan to get favourable events like surprise and ambush. So it is very essential that the second event triggers as it only refers to Japan and not to the USA.

If gearing bonus is 50%, than daily progress of production is 100% higher and daily resource consumption is 60% higher.

Daily resource consumption for ic put on production with gearing bonus is increased by ((1/(1-gearing bonus))-1)x60%. So for a gearing bonus of 40%x0.9x0.9=32.4% as is typical for fully standing army(-10% gearing bonus) and 90% from tech level 1940 means that resource production is increased by 28.757396%. That is what /db/misc.txt implies. Unfortunatly the display in game states quite different. Seems i fail to give a more exact answer after all.

Edit: Actually i have a formula that fits the facts:

Daily resource consumption for ic put on production with gearing bonus is increased by a factor of (1/(1-0.6 x gearing bonus)). For 32.4% gearing bonus that is an increment of 24.14108%.
