I did two things, and the lack of consequenses of them astounds me. What did I do ? I conquered Samaria (the province in which Jerusalem is), and Mekkah, and converted them both. What I don't get is the following: Why don't my relationship with Christian Europe improve dramatically and decrease likewise with the islamic world, when I take back the holy city, and why don't the muslims try to drive me from the "holy land", and in particular Mekkah ?
Because EU is so historically correct in general, I am surprised by the fact that these two provinces are treated like all other provinces.

Well, they're treated as normal provs inderdeed. Nowt much that can be done about that now. In EU2 Rome gets special treatment and JErusalem half-half but Mekkah is just another province (and looks very nice as counterreformed catholics :D )

It was, on a great many occasions. I suspect that even in EU2, since the title is still "EUROPA Universalis" it's still written from a Christian viewpoint and Mecca is just another no-account piece of desert.

Mecca

Well, I think that if a Christian monarch had conquered and converted Mecca, he would be extremely popular among Christians (for converting the province which the heathen's regard as holy, and that the muslims would be so pissed at him that they had united for a brief minute, to retake Mecca...

Good idea, but how are you going to implement this? :)

If they managed to do it with Rome in EU2, you'd think they could manage to do it with Mecca as well...
