How about, in addition to the normal historical events that will be implemented, could we as players have the option to tick a box before our game starts that opens up the extra ordinary event chains for your country and/or all countries too.

For example if this option was ticked or chosen and you wanted to play as Serbia, these new events, if the pre conditions were set of course, would allow you to create Yugoslavia, and maybe allow for the dismantling of the OE and Austria.

Now these events wouldnt take place in real life, but if players choose this option in the menu they could be triggered.

Imagine as Italy, with the extra ordinary event chain activated there would be the task of taking the Dalmatian coast, taking crete and cyprus and possibly vassalizing Greece and more.

Why do all this? Well it would give players the motivation to play each country twice, once with the normal events, and twice with the crazy events attached.

I for one have always played countries properly without cheating, and then on other occasions created a file where i used cheats and created a nice cosy empire for myself.

But by implementing a system like this for a majority or all of the countries would incredibly enhance the game in my view. Though sadly it would take AGES to create the extra events =/ But maybe for the VIP-ers out there?

Though who knows, maybe i'm alone in this desire =D

How is Italy fighting for Dalmatia unrealistic, or Serbia establishing Yugoslavia?? That's exactly what they did in 1918. How else do you think Yugoslavia was established, aliens did it???

If you mean "cheat events" like Italy getting cores across the Roman Empire or 1000000 gold or the Byzantine Empire, then honestly players can go and code them for themselves, most players are bored by such cheats.

Depends on how many events you need and how well planned ideas, but event scripting isn't that slow process.

I don't really understand what you're getting at. There aren't scripted events in Victoria 2: You won't have to fight WW1 as it was done in RL, or the Crimean war, and even the ACW can be avoided if the U.S plays it's cards right. The only events included are general flavor events to help making playing as, say Brazil, different than playing as any other South American nation. The effects of these won't be too big. There's nothing stopping you from being Italy and conquering the Dalmatian coast, or forming Yugoslavia as Serbia. So why do we need scripted events to do it?

Well if your playing Serbia in 1836, forming Yugoslavia as we know it today isn't really on your leaders minds =P

Ok granted with Italy, that is more likely.

But i dont think any of these idea's would be put on just because it would make the game too scripted, but if you give the extra option for players then they might =/ Only if they want that option on of course.

Added motivation i guess, not to mention you can get cash or militancy reductions, or population movements to the places you've took over.

But, i do get what your saying, maybe i've forgetten the Dev Dairies and what they said =/

I am pretty sure that Serbia will have a decision "Form Yugoslavia". It might only become visible once Serbia becomes a fully independent country, though... (They start the game as Ottoman vassals)

Any of the nations withing the Yugoslavian culture group can form Yugoslavia so long as a great power no longer has influence within the nations, and one of those nations is particularly stronger than the others. From the dev diary on nationalism:

About unrealistic events its kinda weird word...

Maybe putting other choices into real events is good idea with this way people can follow diffrent ways than historical one....

This is a much better idea.

Allowing ahistorical (yet plausable) decisions/event is a good idea. One which I understand they are already working into the system, both in events/decisions and the way the game mechanics function.

In V1 I once had my Serbian legions parading through Vienna and Istanbul at the same time, but there was no event to create Yugoslavia or to gain Croat/Slovene/... as national POPs. I modded it manually but I think in V2 this isn't gonna be necessary. Or at least it's easier to mod via a decision.
Time needed: 5 minutes.

You really don't need to tell the dev's how long it takes to put something in their game. I'm quite sure they already know.
"it's easier to mod via a decision.

I meant it takes you 5 minutes to mod it in now that we have decisions and not only clumsy events. Not each and every post in this forum is a "put xyz in or else"-whine. ;)
