I think the seduction / basterd mechanics are good just need tweaking (less likely especially to loving couples). Married couples who share traits and become soulmates / Lovers (should have to share traits to do so) should be impossible to seduce. Also there should be alot of risk to trying to dispute the heritage of a rulers kid especially if the woman is known as a pious individual. it should backfire badly more often than it currently does.

Also If your Wife is your Soulmate / Lover I'm pretty sure she would explain to her husband that so and so was up to funny business. Idk Im a big fan of playing match maker with my characters kids making sure they are marrying people who have similar traits so they have a chance of becoming lovers / Soulmates. there is a good amount of history of kings / queens who had legit partnerships. The game already has Spouse stats and a bunch of events with them helping the realm ensuring a healthy relationship between your heir and their partner should be important.

Shall we return to discussing the game's issues rather than ideologies, please?
Thank you! It's not about what did or didn't happen in real life now or in other societies hundreds of years ago. There is such a thing as TOO much historical accuracy. It's about what makes this an enjoyable game and IMO having every other one of my heirs revealed as a bastard after their childhood does not!

When you have the fornicator trait it is "publicly known". It is a scandal. Such things will be recorded in history. So we can use that as a baseline to see that it should be rare. I am not arguing out of ideology here, I just can't "roleplay" a game that is so silly and full of "memes".

That could be handled with priest opinion penalties. If your realm priest dislikes you too much, you lose the benefits of their holdings and they can potentially trigger negative events calling the ruler out on their actions. Heads of faith similarly are affected by these and can do more dramatic effects like excommunication. Here's where loses in devotion levels, big general opinion penalties, and popular uprisings should be triggered from. The actual sins being committed by the king/queen and their kids don't have serious penalties until the priests start calling them out and the king/queen refuse to accept punishments or dole them out.
On top of this, it would be realistic if close relatives of adulterer/ress's spouse, with high opinion of said spouse, started rivalry over the issue, with possible additional events.

Personally I want lots and lots of interaction between members of your household. ensuring your family is actually a family should be important and important to the success post ruler death. I dislike the case of members immediately hating each other right after I'd wager historically family members out of the line of succession more often than not were the rulers greatest assets, along with child hood friends who became members is their inner council. but back on subject Right now even though i try really hard to avoid adultery it happens to almost every ruler (I day 1 work to soulmate my partner).

I think the thing that's really upsetting people is that this Disputed Blood thing isn't counterable. In reality, the Ruler and his wife would counter-accuse the accuser, and, depending on the traits and personality of the victims-husband and wife-and the traits and personality of the accuser, there would be a percentage of success and failure for both side.

That is what should be happening here.

What the accuser gets, though, in an insta-success, and the Ruler and spouse get an insta-fail, with the Game going behind the scenes to change the child's paternity.

Really, there should be roughly equal chances for success and failure, so the accuser stands a reasonable change of being tossed into prison for his/her cheek in trying to disrupt the succession.

If we got chances to RP all of that, it would be a very satisfying drama for us to experience.

In RL many cheated spouses do "revenge" - they cheat too. I don't say if it's healthy or not. They just do it.
CK3 could have similar thing.
There's already an opinion penalty towards the unfaithful spouse. As someone proposed in the thread earlier, characters should be more prone to seducing and being seduced when they don't like their spouses and vice versa, less prone if they are content. Dread should also play a role – lesser chance, but some knight errant could want to duel you in order to "free the fair lady from the tyrant".

This explains also why half of my daughters are imprisoned before I die on each ruler. It is kinda sad seeing them thrown in the dungeon after false accusations and I can't even ransom them!

I agree There Should be a Lets get in front of this decision based on your relationship with your wife - through the chain you can turn the table on your accusers leading to some imprisonment and head rolling.

I think the thing that's really upsetting people is that this Disputed Blood thing isn't counterable.
