Here's the results of my testing. No matter what I do, I always get the same "winning" message of "Invasion Defeated - Unfortunate that we had no opportunity to study that dimension." as seen in the picture:

I never get the Champion of the Galaxy message, nor do I get the Rift Sealed achievement. I had no help from AIs, who were all in a separate federation embroiled in two civil war uprisings, so I was the only one who killed all three of the Unbidden, Aberrant, and Vehement. It did not matter who I killed first or last, I got the same message.

Also, while testing I killed an enclave and got the Return to Dust achievement, so achievements are working, just not the Rift Sealed one.

I included three save files if someone wants to dig through them to see what's going on. The first is when the Unbidden first appear. The testing file is when all three are there and I start fighting them. The third file is after I beat the last of them and got the "Invasion Defeated" message.

PS - If anyone asks how I got so big, I cheated. While testing this and gave myself a bunch of repeatable techs. But, it should not stop achievements as I got the Return to Dust after doing so.

Thinking about it, cheating and ironman don't really matter. We can just look for the "extradimensionals_expungend" flag, which should be set by destroying all portals, whether it's ironman or not. And it is not set in your save.

The enclave you destroyed, was it an artist enclave? (And did you do it after the appearance of the Unbidden, but before their destruction?)
Would you per chance remember when you finished the most recent new baldarak occupation?

Yes, I defeated the artist enclave AFTER Unbidden arrived, but BEFORE they were defeated. I do not recognize anything concerning a baldarak occupation, so I do not have an answer for that.

Is the extradimensionals_expunged flag set some time after they are defeated? Or should it occur immediately?

I asked because you had the same flags set, "artisan_ignores" and "destroyed_artist", as me in my save where I did not destroy an enclave, so I wondered whether somehow somewhere a wrong flag was set. The second question was to determine whether my guess about the long numbers was rightish.

Is the extradimensionals_expunged flag set some time after they are defeated? Or should it occur immediately?

It should be set immediately after the last portal is destroyed.

Could you set your game via beta back to 1.0.3 and look into the files what crisis.1012 looked like?
My guess is not a scripting issue, but how battles work now.
They fixed that multiple fleets engaging can drop multiple instances of Debris. My guess is that might cause some issues with this event triggering too.

Interesting, I can try killing the portal with one fleet rather than two to see if that might be the cause of the problem. I always attacked with two at the final portal.

The main two cases of crisis.1012 switch on the 2nd Portal having spawned or not (the 3rd is hardcoded to spawn after the 2nd, so if we got 2 we have 3).

I think if you killed them in the wrong order (not from freshest to oldest) it might break.

I did try killing them in different orders, and in these particular saves I killed Unbidden first, Aberrant 2nd, and Vehement last. What order do you think should work best?

I just asked a bit about triggers in the mod forum:

is_triggered_only = yes means the event would not be considered for triggering unless it is explicitly called from another event or other piece of script, such an on_actions file (This file contains reference to various things that might happen in-game and lists events that game will try to trigger - if trigger condition is met, the event will actually happen).

So maybe something could be learned by searching for the thing that triggers crisis.1012, as 1012 and 1013 work when triggered manually.

I did try killing them in different orders, and in these particular saves I killed Unbidden first, Aberrant 2nd, and Vehement last. What order do you think should work best?
Either defeat the Extradimensional Invasion before the 2nd portal even appears.
Or kill the Unbidden portal as the last portal.

That doesn't work, it's the way I defeated them.

So what should happen is: The destruction of the portal starts this, which starts crisis.1012 for the Unbidden. They are extradimensional and the destroyed ship was a portal sized ship, so crisis.1013 (or 1016) starts and sets the flag. But this does not happen.
There is nothing wrong with the on_action part, as the other events in the list work, and the trigger in crisis.1012 is also fine, as the same structure is used for e.g. killing the Dimensional Horror, the Dreadnought, and destroying curator/trader enclaves which all work (the Guardian.x parts). (Curiously the destruction of other Guardians and the artist enclave are in another part of the on_action file which starts with: "on_fleet_destroyed_perp".)

So I'd say that @The Founder s guess, that it is not a scripting issue, is right.

@Aletheia Mathom, was the portal always defended by an Unbidden fleet? Could you try what happens if there is only one fleet i.e. the portal itself, by deleting the defending fleet (and all fleets that would come to its aid)?

Nevermind that, I tried it myself. One ship, one portal, nothing happened.

The portal is always defended by the fleet that owns the portal. Unbidden defends the Unbidden portal, Aberrant and Vehement defend their own. If there is an anchor still up outside the system, the portal is "greyed out" and non-attackable.

I've always waited to kill the portal last and there are no fleets left either inside or outside the system, so I don't believe deleting the defending fleet will do anything (and is rather beyond my editing skills to try).

I'm pretty sure the achievement bugged out when they introduced the anchors.
Anchors should not mater. They only change if the portal itself is invulnerable.
All the code here requires the portal to have been killed.

You did not get any kind of message for destroying portals of the other factions, did you?

If not, maybe the portal isn't registering as a destroyed ship (But why wouldn't it? Everything in space counts as a ship, even the stations. [it has station=yes] Is there an error because the portal has no weapons, or something like that?), or the ship_size isn't detected (the id of the poratl is clearly associated with the ship_design which has the correct size)?

A band-aid solution would be to attach "set_country_flag = extradimensionals_expunged" to the event crisis.1270 or crisis.1271, the one which give the unity reward for destroying all Unbidden.
