Which I believe we're still seeing, right?

No, I've not seen this event the last to times I defeated them. Only the "Invasion defeated" event.

I guess the next step would be to look at a save-game before and after destroying the portal, and see if the country flag "extradimensionals_expunged" is being set.
I wonder if just setting that flag in the file and re-loading the savegame would trigger the achievement, actually.

I've got two saves of the same game here, one with them still around, one where they are defeated.

I guess the next step would be to look at a save-game before and after destroying the portal, and see if the country flag "extradimensionals_expunged" is being set.

I am not getting that message. I am just getting some message about not being able to explore the portal and that is it. The galaxy champion thing is not triggering for me.
I will look into my save file just before and after to see what's happening.

And does anyone know if something special has to happen for you to get the "dragon egg" option? I just got an admiral with special trait and then no other option.
In order to breed the egg (and get the armor) you have to place a mining stative over "Dragons Hoard". And then wait.

Thanks; I just compared the two game states, and indeed the country flag isn't being set properly.
The only new flags you've got between the two points are the completion of the Colossus project, having the flag for invading some primitives expire, and destroying the Artisan enclave:

If it were working, we'd see "extradimensionals_expunged=<some_number>" amongst those.

I'll see if I can find the root cause; the later save does have the various "points of interest" removed, which is something the crisis event does; so part of it is working.

Most interesting indeed. I just looked into my 1.9.1 save and the same flag is there. According to Steam I got the achievement for destroying an enclave on the 11th of January this year, but my bug report with the save is from the 10th of January. In a later save the flag isn't there anymore, but replaced with the one for destroying curators.

Edit: Also there is only one artist enclave in the pre-defeat save, the "Artisan Troupe", which is clearly still there in the post-defeat save.

@Defiler99 wow, thank you for you great work! if you find the root cause is there anything we can do with this information?

Hopefully we'll at least end up with something we can do to modify a savegame and fix it. Even better would be PDX fixing whatever it is that we find. I asked a couple of questions in the Modding forum just now that hopefully someone can answer for me.

It might be as simple as adding the right country_flag manually.

This probably has nothing to do with the achievement problem, but
having the flag for invading some primitives expire,
I also did not invade primitives. I don't have the right laws to invade primitives in that save. Also my xenophile faction is not affected by the landgrab agenda point. I uplifted some primitives, but that was some time ago, as the "recent uplift" bonus to faction happiness is already expired.

I just got the Return to Dust acheivement for killing an enclave, so I know acheivements are working on my save file. I just can't complete Rift Sealed. I am currently testing different scenarios to see if it changes anything. Right now I'm trying to let them take over so the other factions appear. Will update on how that goes.

I just tested replacing the "destroyed_artist" flag with "extradimensionals_expunged" while keeping the number, it does not give me the achievement.

One thing I noticed: In the save in which the Unbidden are around every empire has the extradimensional event chain. In the save where the Unbidden are defeated there is one empire left, the "Hythean Crusaders", a FE, with the event chain. In my older save there is also one empire left with the chain, also a FE.

Edit: Tested in not-ironman with console: The event 1013 sets the flag "extradimensionals expunged" correctly. But it does not fire. :confused:

The event I get for destroying the Unbidden is crisis.1271, triggered by event crisis.1270.
The event that sets the flag is crisis.1013 (if the other factions appear there are other events that set the flag), this event is triggered by crisis.1012.
Manually triggering 1012 in a new save gave me event 1013, so it seems to work if triggered. Therefore I guess 1012 is somehow not triggered by the destruction of the portal?

I believe that FROMFROM is saying: "Give me the entity that triggered the event that triggered this event.".. and if that's true, that kinda looks wrong, because wouldn't that be the player, not the unbidden?

I've got a game I'm working through currently, where I've backed up the save at various key points before/during the crisis, to see if I can sort it out.

Maybe @Wiz will wander by and spot the issue for us though!

Shouldn't the entity be the portal itself? If the Stellaris wiki page about conditions is right, then is_ship_size only looks for the size/type of the target, while others look at all ships that belong to the target. So for that condition to be true it has to target a ship?
Unfortunately the wiki page is cut of at FROMFROM, but for FROM it says:
Returns the location of the object that the script belongs to. If this is attached to a ship-level script, then this returns the ship's current planet.
If the target entity is indeed the portal, then FROMFROM might return the current planet/system of the portal which is not a ship, so is_ship_size always returns false.
If the target entity is the player or the Unbidden, then is_ship_size might also return false, because they aren't ships.
Maybe the definition of FROMFROM or is_ship_size changed between versions?

I wonder where the events are which would trigger 1012, because they don't seem to be in the crisis text files. Or is it triggered by the trigger it has in itself? If so, where would that FROMFROM even point to?

Is there a way to know the amount of systems/stations you have? I want to get the 200 stations achievement but I'm too lazy to count all the systems one by one. And I have a lot so I'm suspecting this one is also borked.

Try the tool tip for the cost of research and/or traditions, there is a penalty for every owned system. 1% or 2% I think.
