Unobtainable Achievements (Windows)

There are plenty of people (myself included) who have every achievement on the PC version.

It’s possible some are bugged in the current version, but this website appears to have made up the “15 are unobtainable” number.

May I ask what your Xbox username is? I would be curious to check if you actually do have these achievements. I've seen literally not one person with them, and this trueachievements website specifically scans Xbox profiles for achievement unlocks, so when a specific achievement says "0 users have unlocked this achievement" it is accurate at least to the people who have linked their accounts.

The list on the side that lists how many achievements are unobtainable are user-reported, so it's not always absolutely accurate.

Personally I play on the Windows store version of the game and I love obtaining achievements so I've been hoping for this to get fixed for awhile now.

Council of elders is easy with hives because you start with five immortal councillors. if it does not work with that setup there is a problem with your game.

What more do y’all need from me? I gave examples of 11 achievements not popping for me and all are on a list that an achievement tracking website has deemed unobtainable. I only came here to ask if it’s a known issue or what.

I don’t think it’s too far fetched that I’m skeptical (but still appreciative of folks trying to help) of some of the comments here where there were no solutions or answers given just that it’s a “random website” and to disregard it….still doesn’t change the fact that for me 11 have been unobtainable on the Xbox GamePass version of the game and it apparently is true for all Xbox GamePass players of the game.

Sorry if I offended anyone but just trying to earn them and enjoy the game.

Probably the most helpful thing to diagnose the issue is to upload your copy of achievements.txt (in the folder "common" within your Stellaris files). Assuming it matches the Steam version, any issue with achievements can be narrowed down to being a Xbox/GamePass issue.

I posted above 11 that haven’t been able to pop for me in multiple games but to concentrate on one for the sake of keeping things easy, Council of Elders. I’m probably 35+ games played since the leader revamp and have had all council members being 100+ but the achievement hasn’t popped for me or a friend (also on Xbox GamePass version of the game).

Heya, I had this pop with a gestalt consciousness run through about two weeks ago. could be an easy way to get it if you are achievement hunting.

Thank you for this comment. I just checked this file after reading your comment and it turns out that all 15 of these achievements are entirely missing from this file. Maybe they just forgot to add these for the Windows store version.

I imagine this might be the simple problem here.

I'll make a bug report later tonight and include this information.

What is your version of Stellaris specifically?

My understanding is that the Console version (i.e. Xbox) is a few patches behind the PC version. If Windows GamePass uses the console version of Stellaris, you'll just have to wait until the next update for that version comes out.

It's 3.9.1

The Windows version is exactly the same as the steam version, just from a different store like GOG and they can all play with each other in multiplayer as well.

This unobtainable achievement thing also isn't solely a Stellaris issue, Paradox has a recurring issue with unobtainable Windows achievements as HoI4 and EU4 also have a bunch of them as well.

Gotcha, yeah sounds like an issue with the files not being validated correctly or some such via some distributions.
