Unnecessary files

Here we have it, the final proof that I really don't know how to spend my free time.

Here's a list of most of the unnecessary files in EU2 (* and ? have their standard DOS/Unix/regexp meanings):

ScenarioEditor.exe (Scenario Editor.exe is the most recent)

db\event_manual.txt (superseded by Havard's guide and .\eu 2 event scripting.doc)
db\random_leaders.csv (correct file in db\leaders)

Scenarios\scenario template.dat (correct file scenario template)

I realise this is of no use to anyone, and as such probably doesn't even belong in this section of the forum, but I started looking around at the various bits of garbage lying around and couldn't stop EU2 is clearly wasting a hell of a lot more space than it needs to!

(note that I'm certain there are other graphics files that aren't used, and some event files, I just didn't track them all down)

AFAIK the patches do not delete files, so indeed there is no point to your post

Maybe you can create a .bat file to run from the EU2 dir for peeps to use? How much actual space is involved here, is it significant?

Actually, there is a small point, in that some of those files are actually added by the patches! (most notably the shield/flag ones)

Total space is probably about 10mb or so, I'd guess. So not significant, with today's hard drives.
