"unknown String Wanted"

This is an obscure bug that exists at least in Windows 98 SE. I have also installed the latest update (1.10).

When the game is started a (windows) box is displayed with the following message: "UNKNOWN STRING WANTED".

Has anybody else faced the same bug before?

Usually happends if u have edited the files and made an error.

I've never experienced it otherwise.

I often get it. It happens when you run music at the same time that you start the game. The Unknown String Wanted, although I'm not sure what it exactly means, tells you that the EU music won't play. It doesn't affect the gameplay in any kind (except if, as for me, your computer is aging, then it will be slower).

I think it means something's missing in text.csv. Got it a lot MP'ing with older versions of Eu2 or Eu1.

For me, the phrase "Unknown String Wanted" consistently appears at the top of the "load game" dialog box (when you load a game while playing one)
