Unknown String Wanted

this is a nightmare when i try to mod country names...

i am now using windows XP Trad. Chinese (HK)

and MS Excel 2003.

that's it, sucks...i need help!

I strongly suggest using a text editor like Notepad/Wordpad instead of Excel whenever possible. To use Excel on Paradox .csv files you need to make sure it uses semi-colons ( as field delimiters instead of commas (,).

open the .csv file you wish to mod with notepad, make changes, save.

Much simpler than hassling with excel files.

I do almost all modding of excel files for Victoria with notepad.

And what exactly are you trying to mod. When creating a new country there are three or four different files you need to tweak to get everything you need.
