Hi all,

at the risk of dragging out a perhaps often discussed topic:
Why is there no UK in EU4? It's within the timeframe. It shouldn't be hard to do. Will it ever get included? If not, why?
Would appreciate any answers; I did a quick check with the search engine, but didn't find anything too specific.

Thanks.

I think the Great Britain is instead of that, UK would add nothing. Though It's a better name, since Great Britain isn't a country.

It was the Kingdom of Great Britain for the vast majority of the game. It was only the 'United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland' much later on.

Oh, You're right, sorry. It was a proper country name in this timeframe, my bad. I'm a bit oversensitive, since the countrys name is "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland", GB being an island (It was quite funny with the scottish referedum, so many people were saying that Scotland want's to separate from GB :) How, with a canal?)

"Great Britain" is a better name for UK in EU4 because "United Kingdom" would make zero sense if the Parliamentarians crush the Royalists in English Civil War. Looking at the Administrative Republic called "United Kingdom" would be a little strange. "Great Britain" is absolutelly neutral about the government form.

The game is still inaccurate in that Ireland is shown as being a part of Great Britain in the 18th century when it was really a separate state that was in a personal union with GB. The union of the governments (parliaments in this case) of Great Britain and Ireland formed the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland on 1 January, 1801, and all of the British Isles would be ruled from London after that point (until 1922, actually, but that story is in Victoria II territory).

I believe this is something that could (and should) be simulated in EU IV, especially with the addition of client states in AoW. Seeing Great Britain with its outdated Union Jack fighting in the Napoleonic Wars makes a history geek sad.
