United Kingdom not liberating France, Belgium and The Netherlands

Hello,

For my first playtrough of vanilla (only using graphical mods) HOI3 I decided to play as Belgium (to get used to army structuring and so on).
After Belgium was conquered by Germany, my governement exiled to Congo. Later in the game the allies did a D-Day and reconquered France and Belgium, around February 1945. Weird thing is, I didn't get the IC of Belgium back and the provinces are striped. Is it supposed to be like that?

What mod are you playing? This might have a significant impact on AI decision making.

I know you said "graphical mods" but some mods come as packages.

If it is just vanilla, and you are running TFH, the AI may not liberate you or anyone else right away if it thinks it might lose ground. It doesn't instantly liberate anyone (and neither should a human player).

I used the "re-textured map" mod, I am 99.9% sure it doesn't affect AI.

I just thought it was weird because only after 6-8 months after defeating Germany (allies took Berlin) the UK decided to liberate Belgium and the other countries. I know HOI3 isn't a perfect replay of WW2 but it happenend way earlier irl.

Since this was my first playtrough I was just wondering if the AI was broken or bugged and if I should re-install.

If it looks like things will be OK in Belgium for the time being, you could simply tag switch or save and reload as the UK and liberate yourself and then return to playing Belgium as intended if you decide to take another crack at it sometime .

Just a question, is there much to do for Belgium once the government has taken refugee in Kongo? Did you have some brigades fighting alongside the Allies somewhere?

Not really, I played at max speed slowly building infra and IC in Congo and waited untill D-Day where I dropped of my 4 inf divisions in Antwerp. I rushed to Berlin and the Belgians were the first to engage the 2 German garrison divisions stationned in Berlin.
