Unit Sprites Extreme Bug

So i loaded 2.2.1.1 for the first time. If i am zoomed out to the point where i can't see any unit sprites it's all good. As soon as i zoom in the horror appears. Huge black lines appear. Each of them comes from the place where a unit should be, but instead of the unit i see a black line. Sometimes when the army is big, like my 20k retinues, there's a HUGE triangle with one point being in the province the unit is in and the the 2 offscreen so like 70% of my screen is black.

Same here, big terrible brown black spikes/triangles pop up.

I tried disabling the unit packs. Still nothing :S

Please try a full clean re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "delete local content" in Steam-CK2
- manually delete all files and folders left under Steam/CK2 AND Documents/Paradox/CK2
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.

IF that doesn't help, Please post a dxdiag.txt (you can delete everything after the end of the "Sound devices" section for brevity) and your Documents/CK2/settings.txt. From your Documents/Paradox/CK2/logs/ directory, post system.log . Open setup.log in notepad and search for 'checksum', post that line only here too please.

Ok,so apparently this is only a case if you load up a savegame. Starting a new game,which until today I did not try with the beta patch,the problem did not occur.
This might be problematic as I believe many of us intend to continue our savegames,and as I believe some of us might have been trapped once they loaded up and saved their game in the new beta patch (version not supported once you do a rollback)

That's why it's a Beta patch. Not intended for regular play nor to continue an old game on. It's therefore to sight and report bugs on a game started with it.
There is a clear warning in each Beta announcement.

This at least might be a bug regarding continuing an old game or for whatever reason on the next full patch. I don't know as i didn't even try to continue an old game on it.
In that respect it my be interesting as a potential bug report. Might have to do with unit packs or somesuch.

You can just stick to your version.
Either by starting the game without Steam and setting updates option in Steam to "Only update when i launch it "(from inside Steam)
or copy the game folder outside the Steam folder and place it somewhere else, like C: Games\Ck2 or such.
Doing that you could also copy the CK2 folder in Documents, move it close to the new game folder and create a userdir. txt file in your new non-Steam game folder

That said, neither am i a fan of starting over and over again or interrupting a game and start anew, but that i do is my decision as i want to be up to date.
If i want to stick to or go back to an older version, i can use any full game version down to 1.06b, as i have several game version folders saved on my drive.
I do hope that we get one of those longer quiet phases again as 1.111 so that i can finally finish a game again.
