When I click on a division, on the bottom of its information it has an Experience value. What does it do? If you get 1.0 Experience does your unit's reliability go up or something?

There is a combat bonus for experienced units (appears in the same little window as the fortification bonus or the artillery brigate bonus), but as far as actual numbers go, I am at a loss to gove you precise values.
When the unit is in combat put your mouse over it and a tooltip should appear showing the factors affecting it.
