I think that for making every country more individual it will be interesting to have unique ministerial posts in every country. For example minister of propogand in Germany, lord referendary in Japan, head of the political department of Red army in Soviet Union. What do you think about this?

I would like if there would be the 10 main ministers like in HoI 1 and 2,but you could create new ministries for other areas...May be too complicated now though,so I think it could get into a later expansion.

I'd much rather see individual ministers, where each minister has been "profiled" giving unique advantages and disadvantages, rather then the standardized "barking buffoon" or "Industrial Specialist" designations.

I realize that this wouldn't be possible for all countries, but the game isn't geared to deliver "full" gameplay to every nation anyway, so some ministers would just be standardized.

It could be possible if they have and Ideological template. Meaning Communist have one list of ministerial possitions. Fascists a different. Democracies another. I would think that at the least there should/could be 3. But they could develope a bunch more. At least if it would be modable that would be cool.

Yeah, "minister of defense" sounds uncool.
So I wanna my "Secretary of Defense"!

Such name changes will add a lot of flavor to the game.

While likely not terribly plausible for Paradox to do, this is certainly something I'll be attempting in my modding.

I think that there should be a seperate extra slot in all nations as a place holder for "special" administration posts. Aka, propaganda minster, and some others mentioned before.

this would have all the advantages of these ministries at the lowest possible cost.

Code:
Ministers for propaganda: -1 dissent, +1 national unity, -0.1 leadership, -0.5 money

But what about the democracies who don't have "propaganda ministries"?

I personally always wanted more minister positions so that you could actually fill out your government accurately. Using Germany as the basis, you can't have the high ups in the spots that most closely resemble them in game all at the same time like you should be able to. I think Goebbels and Himmler are the prime points here, since they both share the same slot.

What! You never heard of the spin masters of truth in the USA?

The Democrats.............

You ever find Saddam's WMD's?

But some Democracies do have propaganda ministers of sorts. France had the Minister of Information cabinet position from 1938 - 1974.

I think we might get into arguments about the flavour names as irl ministries would not totally match between nations. I'm happy with the abstraction in this case.

I agree. I mean: I am not happy about the abstraction, but I can at least live with it. Would give a bit more flavour, no doubt there. But there are other things to be handled that are much more important.
