Well, here's an update! Finally done with everything at school, only got two days left, but no work.
The pig-god must've been pleased with our modernization efforts, and granted us a claim on our rivals. Unfortunately Portugal hasn't cored it, otherwise I would use it to create European soldiers.
Natives are incited, and we clear out the area for colonization. We also learn quite a bit about land warfare.
Our national and financial situation improves considerably. Very convenient event.
The pig-god wants us to conquer Zazzau.
But before we do so, we westernize further.
Here we go again.
Christian missionaries from Portugal enter the western parts of our country. We respectfully disagree with them.
We westernize the final step. Our research speed is now up to par with Castille and Portugal, though we'll need a few years to catch up.
As usual, Castille doesn't land any troops, and soon offer a white peace. I'm starting to think the AI just realized how to be gamey, and is just collecting war taxes for his own gains.
I notice that Tripoli has gotten a core on Berber-cultured Tadimikket, and I immediately begin recruiting Charge cavalry.
I'm gonna fullfill my mission, and conquer even more of Africa.
The war was nothing special.
I centralize further to allow military modernization. The policy restriction hurts though. 6+ RR in all provinces.
I reach Government tech 9, and get a new national idea. I choose military drill because I'm going to need all the help I can get to defeat the Europeans until I modernize my military.
I notice Portugal has gotten a border dispute or something while they had a colony in Sierra Leone. I get better troops and a higher risk of them attacking me. Seems like a good deal to me.
I begin to colonize my way north. I plan to eat up Algiers before Castille do so.
10th October, 1518, Tadimekket converts to the Yorumba culture.
17th April, 1519, I reach government tech 10, allowing me to reform my government. I have not yet decided what to do. If I do reform, I don't need to worry about the policy restrictions, the incapable ruler modifiers, and they wont get the colonial conquest against me, which means they'll only have the holy war casus belli, which ends after 1650. But if I don't reform, I can keep my tribal conquest casus belli on all bordering nations, allowing me to take provinces for 50% infamy. Since only Christians and Muslims get the holy war casus belli, I wont get a good casus belli until I can shift to absolute monarchy for the imperialism casus belli.
What do you think I should do?
