In my game, I just ate my ally by standing next to its drilling troops, declaring war on its ally, and then march right up onto its army and stackwiped it. Too easy to exploit really. Here is the most epic undocumented change in 1.23, 6k AI army is escaping from 1K rebel army just because they're drilling lollllllll

By the way, there was a time in the game that your allies PU's can kill your rebels in your lands but now i don't see any junior of mine is taking care of rebels just appeared in my lands near of them. Id to see juniors are taking care of my rebels again.
The HCC now seems to dissapear completely if the nation providing it gets full annexed. And we all rejoiced at the death of their HCC.
This is a known bug but big enough to warrant inclusion here I think (just to get the word out):
You no longer get an additional merchant for 51% control of a trading company region.
They do under the right circumstances. If a TC has a merchant according to the UI, and so do ALL downstream TCs that you own, then you will get your merchants. So, for example having a one province TC in Ivory Coast with screw all power will mean you don't get any Merchants from anything upstream of that which is everything. However, if you revoke your Ivory Coast TC, you can make a Cape TC that will be able to get merchants. The make a Zanzibar one that gets a Merchant.
Hopefully it's fixed in the beta patch. I've added this to the OP because it is, as you say, a huge issue.
What if your heir is a 6-6-6? Can you increase to 7 or does the event just not trigger or give you an option for the category that has 6 in it?Just got an even called 'Learning From the Mistakes of Others' - it appears to be due to my King having the Well Advised trait. I got the options to spend 75 of any power to permanently increase the matching stat of my heir by 1. There was a 4th alternative the just lose 5 prestige. Never seen this event before, leading me to believe it is new in 1.23. Anyone able to shed any light there?

Edit: it appears this is not new, just new to me. Interesting none the less.
Oh yeah, I see that now. I got the merchant after getting control of another node downstream. Probably an old bug not related to recent changes.

Thank you for looking into it.I looked into that event - it's a RoM event and you can't get it if your heir has 5 or more in any stat. Generally I would disinherit any such heir so I never got that event before. This was for France's starting heir who I kept.
Their army and manpower were reduced by a large margin. Around 50% for both, if I'm not mistaken.
Heh, don't tell the Ottophile part of the forum or you'll get your butt lit on fire.To be fair; it made no sense that Austria was at full manpower and army in 1444. The day after a Crusade they partook in ended.
Hungary; Poland; Ottomans and Austria should all be nowhere near full power in 1444.
